When we go on ios in may we will have a member of our party who suffers from epilepsy(hope i spelt that right).could anyone tell me if rccl use strobe lighting in the shows ????(i hope not as it would be a shame if one of us had to miss them:( )

Anything is possible. I would suggest asking the Cruise Director after boarding.

i think they might use strobe lights in the promenade parade!

I don´t know about the shows on IOS but yes I´ve seen strobe lights being used in some of the shows.

Has the person checked with their doctor if this is a potential problem? Not everybody with epilepsy (especially adults) is prone to seizures from strobe lights.

If is that much if a problem –I would definitely speak to someone on board, Perhaps the CD can direct you to the proper staff.

Chances are that this person has been tested to see what effects, if any, strobe lights have on them. Not everyone with epilsepy has strobe lights as one of their triggers. You may be worrying for nothing. Good luck.

ive also heard that its only if there are more than one strobe light and its blinking off cue with the other, but yes the production shows do use strobe lighting most times

A colleague of ours is on the Independence OTS right now, plugging away, literally, getting the lighting rigs ready in the entertainment venues. All of RCIs show lounges, ice rinks, discos, Royal Promenades, and pool areas have strobe lighting (capability).
