Had a similar towel dude on our last Rhapsody cruise. We opened the cabin door and DW says "You left the TV on" I replied that I didn't and got "the look". About that time she discovered the towel dude holding the remote:)! Hilarious.

I have read where these "men" have been left in cabins and given the occupants quite a scare:eek: when they return to their room. I also read that RCI might be doing away with them because of the scare they have been giving to some passengers.

I have never had a towel man on my bed or in the bathroom. Have had lots of the usual animals and just love them.

Any chance they teach how to do this stuff on board?

 

Our first cruise is in 12 days, and I know my oldest will go wild for the towel creations. He loves origami and makes all kinds of small animals out of dollar bills. I haven't told him about these as I want him to be surprised, but once he sees them he's going to want to learn how.

 

Any suggestions?

On my last cruise, I requested a towel person and was told that they were no longer allowed to do it. Scared several people.

On the Sovereign last April, the attendant actually used my Pant, Shirts, Shoes, and Sunglasses to create a life size me on the bed, strecthed out, like in a coffin. For those who have not met me, I am 6'6" and very large. Picture walking in on that.

 

It scared the holy crap out of my wife, who went into the cabin by herself while I went to the casino late at night.

I bought a book on towel origami a couple of years ago for a gift exchange. I may have gotten it from signals.com.

 

On our Brilliance there was a class on one of the sea days.

 

That "man" sitting on the commode would truly scare me, and I'd never get a picture of it, either!

Thanks for the advice -- I just ordered that book and will surprise junior with it on the cruise. After he sees the first one of course...
