golfinggirl Posted June 8, 2010 #77 Share Posted June 8, 2010 Thanks for the info, Kat. We were just down in Galveston two weeks ago and were wondering what was going to happen to the old girl.
pspercy Posted June 13, 2010 #78 Share Posted June 13, 2010 Either someone buys it and spends megabucks to restore it, or it needs to be torn down completely. It's been a horrible dump & blot on the landscape for many many years

It's been a horrible dump & blot on the landscape for many many years --------------------------------------------------------------- Its already been bought. Give credit to Landrys for they have been trying to make things happen for a couple of years. I won"t repeat the issues but they are documented here. In a year you will be surprised. Galveston Cruiser Posted June 14, 2010 #80 Share Posted June 14, 2010 Work has begun:D Ramp from Seawall to pier has been torn down, area underneath is blocked so no one gets hurt while demo and work taking place. At some times one lane will be blocked on Seawall going East during construction.
BallFour4 Posted June 14, 2010 #81 Share Posted June 14, 2010 Landry's struggled to transfer ownership based on a workmans comp claim against the prior owner for years (I'd stand to be corrected on that, but I think I am right) and now the work has begun. Landry's might draw a share of critics, but any amount of improvement on that structure is going to be a good thing. Now a few in city leadership want parking meters/permits for Seawall Blvd parking... that's a disaster. .

nlt46 Posted March 15, 2011 #86 Share Posted March 15, 2011 Dear Texas Teen; I appreciated seeing people on the beach yesterday here in Texas. That means by the time I cruise, things are bound to be warmer. Thanks for the picture. Nancy
