Fishing in Ketchikan around September 8

I have some friends who are crusing in September. Yes, I told them that was kind of late for fishing. But..... can anyone recommend a tour and what can they expect to catch in September. Silver Salmon?

We booked a trip with True Alaskan Charters for Sept 3rd and these were the comments in our e-mail communication:

 

The Silver salmon will be running that time of year, my personable favorite, and the weather doesn't start to interfere with Halibut fishing until the end of September.

 

And here's to catching and not just fishing!

You can still catch a few fish that time of year. He should be advised that new rules now limit charter fishermen to 1 (one) halibut per day.

Well just look at my picture and you tell me if there is still good fishing in Sept. This was my second time in Sept and great fishing both times. I went in May this time and it hadn't started yet, but I got great pictures of eagles so I didn't care. Last Sept and this May we did Northern Lights Charter and Ken is absolutly GREAT! Last year we caught several silvers and a 35lb King! Ya, we had a great time. The price to ship all the fish back was a killer:eek:
