palolake Posted October 15, 2004 #26 Share Posted October 15, 2004 I voted for Antigua but my favorite would be Dominica. We've been there twice on a cruise and just loved the place.
98Charlie Posted October 15, 2004 #27 Share Posted October 15, 2004 Cozumel is #1 because we dearly love Poncho's Backyard and we're recognized by the employees as soon as we walk through the door. #2, not on the list, is Roatan. We enjoy knocking around in Coxen Hole and talking to the locals who drop by the Blind Tiger restaurant and bar. #3 - St. Marteen for its unique Guavaberry Rum and then theres, 4, 5, 6, 7 --any port where the ship arrives and we're far from home having a great time together with great people on a good cruise. Hapinowagain2 Posted October 16, 2004 #28 Share Posted October 16, 2004 Dominica should be on the list. We loved that island.

CharlesDC Posted October 25, 2004 #30 Share Posted October 25, 2004 For me it's a toss up between St. Maarten and St. John although I voted for St. Maarten.
DotR71 Posted October 26, 2004 #31 Share Posted October 26, 2004 I've only been to a couple of places in the Carribean, so I would say Cayman Island is my favorite so far. :)
queenL Posted October 27, 2004 #32 Share Posted October 27, 2004 St John or Belize. However ask me again when I return from Dominica!
S.S.Oceanlover Posted October 27, 2004 #33 Share Posted October 27, 2004 While I've never been to any of the Southern Caribbean islands yet my favorite is Cozumel. The people there are so friendly and there are so many different things to do there. After being there about 5 times I can honestly say that I have never done the same thing twice. Hopefully I'll get to Aruba, and Barbados soon. Bill
NoNoNanette Posted October 27, 2004 #34 Share Posted October 27, 2004 We simply adore Playa Del Carmen.... lounging on the beach drinking beer, splashing in the waves, strolling down the "strip". Been there twice on a cruise. Loved it!
SHayesShip Posted October 27, 2004 #35 Share Posted October 27, 2004 St Lucia. I have been to all of the islands on this poll and love St. Lucia the most with the Pitons, "drive-in" volcano and the overall topography of the island. I thoroughly enjoy the people also. lynwar Posted November 1, 2004 #38 Share Posted November 1, 2004 I have enjoyed Grand Cayman on our cruises, if only for sentimental reasons. My father and step-mother used to go there each year with the Dr. my step-mother worked for. She's a nurse. He'd do his clinic and my dad would go along for the ride and made many friends there. That was in the 1960's. Finally, in 1998, I visited there on my first cruise, and felt as if I was sharing it with them. We always go to the Post Office in Georgetown and send them a postcard. I last saw Georgetown this past September while on the Caribbean Princess after the Hurricane, and it was so sad. I hope we'll get back again to see the city when the recovery is over. I'm very glad, too ,that the Turtle Farm was not destroyed. Lynne
mek Posted November 1, 2004 #39 Share Posted November 1, 2004 I voted for St Thomas because of the shopping/beaches - also St John's is near, and IMHO, one of the mosty beautiful places on earth!
