cruise4kicks Posted October 7, 2008 #201 Share Posted October 7, 2008 There were so many messages being posted simultaneously that I misunderstood that you had booked on Travelocity. I already apologized. Wanna keep beating me?

alsmommi Posted October 7, 2008 #203 Share Posted October 7, 2008 Can anyone answer my original question? We booked a category "CC" which I think comes with this service. Can anyone tell me who the person is on this cruise and what I can expect?
Bennett'sCruise Posted October 7, 2008 #204 Share Posted October 7, 2008 The description I see' date=' on NCL, for CC type cabins is "request a concierge". So you are correct that the concierge is available to you. This makes sense as there are only 18 cabins of a higher level than a CC. PE[/quote'] PE: can you give us the link to that quote? I'd love to be able to use it in the future ... thanks .... ~d
gsc500 Posted October 7, 2008 #205 Share Posted October 7, 2008 I know I am not going crazy. I printed out the category description off of NCL's website when I upgraded to a CC and it specifically reads "concierge available" (exactly as on the travelocity website description). The description I see' date=' on NCL, for CC type cabins is "request a concierge". So you are correct that the concierge is available to you. This makes sense as there are only 18 cabins of a higher level than a CC. PE[/quote'] As PE mentions, there aren't many higher level suites on the Dream, so you probably will have the concierge available to you if you need it. We had a concierge available to us on the Dawn when we sailed in an AF minisuite back before they took that perk away. We got a card in the cabin introducing who our concierge was and how to contact him/her. Thought - GREAT!! But honestly never got around to needing concierge service. Bon Voyage and have a GREAT trip!!
Planer's Edge Posted October 7, 2008 #206 Share Posted October 7, 2008 Still not sure where you read it .. on what "description" and how did you book? Here's the description from the NCL website on the Dream .... If you go to that site' date=' you will find the only mention of Concierge service (& Butler service) is on the AA and AB category staterooms ...[/font'] image floorplan Superior Oceanview Stateroom Sitting area, queen-size bed or two lower beds, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a refrigerator in most. (Some staterooms have picture windows and have obstructed views.) That is the standard CC description. If you will notice that they also show the Dream having BA balcony cabins of which it doesn't. If you go to the deck plans and move your cursor over a CC cabin the description will say "request a concierge" which mean a concierge is available for this level of cabin. fin Posted October 7, 2008 #207 Share Posted October 7, 2008 I would be willing to bet that a concierge doesnt come with a "oceanview stateroom" I have never seen that on any other NCL ship out there... Don't bet on it. Just because you have not seen it doesn't mean it is not so. Twice.

prg2101 Posted October 8, 2008 #209 Share Posted October 8, 2008 Don't bet on it. Just because you have not seen it doesn't mean it is not so. Twice. You may be able to request is but it isnt included in the description that NCL puts on the web so thats enough for me to figure that they dont have one... prg2101 Posted October 8, 2008 #210 Share Posted October 8, 2008 I really dont think a concierge is a really important aspect of cruising on a ship as old a the Dream.....Lets be real here, they want to sell the ship at the end of the year, oceanview cabins arent gonna get concierge or butler privleges on a ship that they want to get rid of, in a port hole cabin....I have payed a lot of money for penthouse cabins and think this comment or even suggestion is a joke:rolleyes:
fin Posted October 8, 2008 #211 Share Posted October 8, 2008 Believe what you wish, only I repeat ... if you 'bet' on it, you lose. Cheers.

Second of all, the description on the NCL website for the dream DOES STATE "concierge included". Third, a CC is not a "Port hold cabin". If you read the description it is a superior oceanview stateroom that includes a floor to ceiling picture window. I personally don't give a rats you know what about what you have paid for your penthouse cabins in the past. This is our honeymoon, our first cruise and I asked a simple question as to what I can expect and/or need to do about the concierge service that I know for a fact comes with our category. Unless you have an answer to my question I would suggest you butt out!

alsmommi Posted October 8, 2008 #214 Share Posted October 8, 2008 Because I thought (silly me) that the people on these boards would be adult about things and not attack someone for asking a question. Guess I learned my lesson.
VoyageVirgin Posted October 8, 2008 #215 Share Posted October 8, 2008 Getting the information you want is not that difficult. People will give their impression or advice because this is a "message" board. What everyone is trying to tell you is that a deluxe oceanview cabin will not usually have conceirge service nor a butler on most NCL ships. The Dream being an older ship may be different. If you find the information to be conflicting between where you booked and NCL then you should call your booking agent directly and hope to get the correct answer. Sometimes the website is incorrect with the category descriptions - don't ask me why - it just gets screwed up occassionally. My suggestion is to start your own thread with the question in the header and see if anyone who has been on the Dream will answer it for you. This is afterall a thread for conceirge updates so not everyone will read it.

Bennett'sCruise Posted October 8, 2008 #217 Share Posted October 8, 2008 Stateroom 0204 below: Here's Stateroom 0204. Looks nice. I got this from a stateroom website ... where it still does not mention that Concierge service is available. I recommended several posts ago that you look elsewhere for your needed information ... start you own thread ... look at the Dream Roll Calls. I really think you need to do that ...I can understand folks getting a tad upset that you would be entitled to Concierge service in an Oceanview Category ... as this is your first cruise (no VIP ... yet), and many folks pay a HUGE amount to get that service in the high-end Penthouses. It's a little hard to swallow to hear Con service is available for an ov. Please come back on here when you return and let us know how things worked out for you. Enjoy your first cruise! :) If, indeed, you do get Con service you can expect ... 1) escort from the VIP waiting room in the terminal to your stateroom; 2) the Con will make your dinner reservations for you (very nice perk); 3) the Con can get you priority disembarking at various ports (if you have a very early excursion) and on the last morning of your cruise; 4) the Con is generally always around asking you how things are going and if he/she can do anything for you. It's a wonderful perk. Hope you get to enjoy it.bon voyage!~dianne
alsmommi Posted October 8, 2008 #218 Share Posted October 8, 2008 Thanks. I will be sure to come back and let you know what happened. It would be very nice to have considering this is our first cruise ever and it happens to be our honeymoon (we were married this past Saturday). LooserCruiser123 Posted October 8, 2008 #220 Share Posted October 8, 2008 Out of curiosity, I went to the NCL website, and if you pull up the Dream deckplans and scroll over the CC cabins, it DOES say "request a concierge"; the owner suite says "request a butler or concierge". It doesn't list is though on the cabin description page.

Follow the first link to the staterooms on the Dream on the NCL website: No statement about concierge for Category CC http://www.ncl.com/nclweb/fleet/staterooms.html?shipCode=DREAM Follow 2nd link to deckplans and it's there for a CC and click on the CC cabin http://www.ncl.com/nclweb/fleet/deckplan.html?shipCode=DREAM and both pictures of the cabin are different.
