Concierge Update

Recommended Posts

As a point of information, Ryan the butler has left the Jewel and is headed to the Gem in the Med. Those who get him will be lucky - he is one of the best!

Who will be the Butler NOW? We are sailing Oct. 28th and have been reading about all the good service on the Jewel. We're in an AB if anyone has an idea who our Butler might be. I hope Alex is still the concierge.

Thanks for any info.

Does anyone know who the current concierge is on the Star? We'll be on her in a few weeks. TIA!

As of the 20th it was Simone.

Anyone know who the concierge on the Sun is? We'll be onboard on the 13th!

Do the Mini-Suites on the Pearl have the use of the concierge service?

Web site is a little vague.

Sorry, but no it is not a standard perk for mini-suites. But, that not preclude you from contacting the Concierge on your own and requesting assistance. But, be sure to tip appropriately if you are afforded assistance.

Although I was in a balcony (not suite) cabin this past weekend ,I received concierge service on my Sky trip with Virginia who was beyond wonderful. Unfortunately, I did not see her the final night or the final morning to tip her out. Two questions: 1. How much do you tip concierge? 2. How do I get it to her now that I'm off the ship?

I think your only option is to contact someone in Miami to figure out how to do this.

How do you even know how much to tip?? For example, what would you tip for a "line pass"??

Have you ever used the Concierge at a hotel? Think along the same lines.

As for how much to tip for specific things....what was it worth to you ass compared to not having it?

I know you're trying to help me, and I appreciate it, but I guess it would be easier if you had the whole story. First of all, I didn't even KNOW I had a concierge and I wasn't in a suite so it wasn't like I had one automatically. I was on this ship as an invited casino VIP guest so apparently "they" all knew who I was. If I wasn't a CC member I wouldn't have even known who Virginia was, but I had seen other posters talking about a Virginia who was their suite concierge and wasn't she just wonderful, etc. etc. etc. So when I was sitting in the cruise terminal before boarding and getting ready to get on line, this woman comes over and says "follow me". I thought she was bringing me to the end of the line to await boarding but instead she brings me upstairs to board the ship (line pass!). Then on Sunday when we were going to GSC, she had told me to find her when I was ready to head for the island (which I forgot about) but when I was wandering the hallways she tracked me down and said "follow me" and brought me to the disembarkation station (line pass which aggravated other pax!) ahead of the line. It never occurred to me to tip her on the spot -- and I didn't have any cash on me at that point anyway. But now I feel like a heel if I don't acknowledge her somehow

If that is all she did for you I would not feel too bad myself. It would hardly seem worth the effort to try to get a few bucks delivered to her.

We use the concierge for all of our dinner reservations. Last year we had a mid-cruise dinner party with some of our meet and greeters and I asked the concierge to deliver the invitations. For a 14 day cruise I believe we gave the concierge $100. This may seem high but this guy was so incredibly attentive and seated us in the extremely VIP seats (reserved for Owners suite and above) in the theater. All this and we were only in a mini-suite.
