  1. 1. Did you get your smuggled alcohol on board?

    • Yep, it was in my bag where I'd put it when I unpacked!

How many on here remember that CARNIVAL READS THESE BOARDS?:D

I was thinking the same thing!

I guess we don't drink enough to make it worth the lost luggage space to smuggle. i could fit another pair of shoes where two bottles would be! :)

Does Carnival have a house wine? If so it is probably a chardonnay which I hate. I like Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Grigio which is 7.00 and 12.00 a GLASS! respectively. I am bringing my own box. I will walk to the room two times in the evening and maybe buy one drink at the casino or piano bar.

15 cruises and still batting 1000............

Closest we came to being caught was on NCL out of Charleston. We had heard they were pretty strict, so we adjusted our methods. They checked us thoroughly, but didn't find our stash.........

14 Carnival cruises and never had any taken...NCL now x-rays your checked luggage and if it see's something you have to go to the "naughty" room and open your bag...But I fooled them too by packing it right next to my shaving kit.....Dennis

All checked luggage goes thru x-ray machines on all cruiselines........

I've taken alchohol onboard Carnival ships without a hitch.

We also spend $700-900 in bar bills, wine, etc.

On another cruiseline that acted like ****'s and with 0 tolerance........we usually have a bar bill of $200-300 because we get so mad with them.

Carnival is smart for allowing alchohol onboard.

We have taken small amounts in our checked luggage and never had a problem. I buy it in what they call "travelers" plastic bottles. Also, when in port usually buy a 6 pack and maybe a small bottle and carry it back onto the ship, never a problem. Once was told that my bottle would have to be checked and was directed to a table away from the line. I told the screener OK and proceeded to my cabin. No one had a clue and the guy checking the booze was busy with other passengers. I still order drinks and usually have a $400.00 tab at the end of the cruise. Moderation is the key.....

heartily LOL!

That picture cracked me up, BOB NC

No problem for us, too. Didn't disguise the booze, either. Two bottles of Grey Goose in my checked bag; bottle champagne brought on board. Medium sized cooler w/beer, no ice also packed. The cooler was really nice to have in the room, as our steward kept it iced up every day. When my hubby bought buckets of beer @ the bar, he'd bring one or two back to the room to put in his cooler and enjoy on our balcony for later.

One cruise on the fantasy- 1 confiscation. They pulled me into a small room and searched my stuff and questioned me. I had it in a sprite bottle, but did not lie about it. I won't do this again in two weeks when I leave...too embarrassing.

I took 24 16oz. plastic bottles of Bud Lite on our last Conquest cruise. I tipped the room steward and he kept it iced. I asked him how often passengers did this and he said out of the twenty rooms he has at least 1 to 2 each cruise maybe more sometimes.

This pic had me LOL! I've been so nervous about "smuggling" booze onboard but if this guy can load a suitcase FULL of beer, I'm going to take my chances and bring a bottle of RUM for DH.

Our last bar tab was about $600....

Let's see, 11 cruises, 11 successful smuggles. I just pack it in my checked luggage and have no problem. I wonder which ports the confiscations happened at? This is really interesting.

So therefore, 1 - 2 Cruisers out of twenty read "Cruise Critic"??

Although it was not confiscated, it was at Port of San Diego.

Yes they serve those onboard, that's why we purchased them.

That picture of me with the suitcase fulla beer......We had another suitcase exactly like that, and another suitcase with 2 more 12 packs. Calm down, we had 8 adults together on the cruise. We also had Rumrunners filled with 4 liters of premix drinks and a 2 liter plastic bottle of premix long island iced teas.

The ship sells 16 oz Bud Light aluminum bottles. I had 12 oz cans. Nobody gave a rats a$$. I tipped the steward to keep my plastic lined trash can full of Bud Light iced. I would carry a bucket with 4 or 6 beers in it up on deck and the waiters would constantly replenish my ice in the bucket.

We do the same as you. One suitcase full of beer that we always check.

This particular time they caught it thru the x ray machine at check in. Once they found the beer they checked every suitcase with our last name. Unfortunatley other family members with the same name also had to take theirs back to the car.

There was a message on our phone in our cabin to go down to where the crew check in. Our suitcases were there. They apologized and asked if we wanted to take it back to our car. We did.

The room stewards could care less......it was security.

No biggie, we got away with it for years and we will continue to do so........

You might want to invest in a collapsable ice chest....works alot better then a trash can;)

This is a really dumb idea! To post a poll to brag. This will only lead to more scrutiny. Don't brag about it. Who cares if you got away with it. Share stories of being caught, and how to avoid being caught without sharing actual numbers of how many got away with it. I would not be surprised it Carnival was on here looking seeing this. They see 185 people who got away, and then see $$ signs all over that they lost.
