Merion_Mom Posted September 14, 2008 #1 Share Posted September 14, 2008 I started posting on a Majesty question thread, then decided to start my own. :D This is a VERY loose and outgoing crowd on weekenders out of Miami! It will be interesting to see if it "feels" different on the 4-day which follows. The refurbishment is very nice. The elevators are notably well-done, and there are two marble countertops in our JS bathroom. It's nice to have cruises this class before, to understand which elevator goes where, since they don't all go to all floors. Denise has been enjoying the gym facilities. I have been patronizing the casino. ;) Christina is the CD staff member who has been running trivia games, and she has a huge bag of RC 'goodies', and she gives prizes to all participants, not just the winners! (apparently, I need to watch more TV - I seriously STUNK at that one!) The food has been very good, although our particular dining room table service has been a little on the slow side. Our dining companions have ordered the "regular" alternative steak several times, and have pronounced it "delicious". Yes, the $14.95 "Chops" steak is on the menu, but no one pushes it. The soups and starters have been excellent, and I always order several. Internet speed wasn't horrible, but I don't want to spend fifty five cents a minute once my coupon usage is done, so I'm posting from an internet café in Nassau. The staff in the WJ is, as always, friendly and helpful. I was sitting by myself eating lunch yesterday, after returning from CocoCay (I don't like sharing my food with seagulls). I had a glass of water, which I finished. Before I was halfway out of my chair, a waiter appeared to take the empty glass and get me a refill. As I sat there, slowly eating and reading a magazine, he brought me another fresh glass, then another, as I approached the bottom of each. :) Our cabin attendant is wonderful - they seem to have more cabins than ever, and he works like a dog, no matter when we finally leave our cabin in the morning. First night comedian was very very funny, (Phil Paulisohn, probably misspelled) and we had a chance to chat with him last night. Last night comedian, a juggler (but much more than that) was good too, and I usually dislike jugglers. There was some little kid in the front who was apparently without parental supervision, who kept yelling out obnoxious things (which I couldn't clearly hear), and Randy (Randy Cabral is his name) called for security. The audience erupted in wild applause. Love & Marriage was funny, as usual. Jimmy Rhodes is a very good CD, and he REALLY got L&N rolling. The "middle" couple BOTH gave the "Newlywed Game" answer to "where is the most unusual place you have ever made whoopee?" If you don't know what that is, google it! Majesty is such a manageable size. Although our cabin is all the way aft, it is absolutely not a long walk to anywhere. RC just kept cutting prices for these two cruises, so we jumped on the lower rates to upgrade ourselves to a JS. Cheap, cheap, cheap. Right now we are fighting with everyone to stay in the same cabin for the 4-night. So far, no one seems particular inclined to help us. :( Time to pretend that I actually want to see something of Nassau. Since we are here again on Tuesday, when we are planning on doing the Comfort Suites/Atlantis thing, we are just wandering around, maybe going to find some conch-serving restaurant, then returning to the ship. Hasta luego, amigos. Preguntas? Carol
BobBeaSea Posted September 14, 2008 #2 Share Posted September 14, 2008 Hi Carol, nothing like a "loose and outgoing crowd" of cruisers :). There used to be a great spot for all things conch on the Nassau side of the bridge to PI. If it is still there it would be the restaurant to try. TexCruise371 Posted September 14, 2008 #6 Share Posted September 14, 2008 OK....I'm jealous! We love the Majesty! We've done 2 B2Bs on her since January and have found a distinct difference in the 3 day and 4 day crowds  If you happen to see Janet (waiter, she'll be in a white coat in the WJ) in the WJ or DR, tell her Barry and Lisa from Texas said Hello! Enjoy the rest of the time onboard.:D

BTW... the TV trivia you are speaking of... by any chance is it the one where you have to name the TV show theme songs???? DH, sis and her BF, and I won that challenge on Enchantment a few weeks ago... then were promptly told we needed to get a life and given a baseball cap for our efforts...;)

liketovacation Posted September 14, 2008 #18 Share Posted September 14, 2008 Hey Carol, Just Jeff and I (no kids) are headed down to be on Majesty on 10/3 for the 3 nighter for our 10 year anniversary. We also got in on a good deal last minute, but Jeff can only take off for the 3 nighter. Very interested to hear about Altantis. We are planning on spending our Nassau day there using the Comfort Suites option. Barb
