Minor Tipping

Besides the large tips at the end of the cruise. When if at all do you hand out "as you go" tips? Does morning room service coffee get a tip? Etc.

Any time you use Room Service tip according to # of people and amount of food delivered.

For any drinks you order, a gratuity is automatically added to your bill. For room service, I usually tip a couple of dollars. You might also want to tip tour guides and bus drivers who drive you on your shore excursions.

Porters for hauling your bags around are another. At the pier and/or airport.

if the delivery is made by a room service waiter i tip when he delivers the meal as i may never see him again---------------if my room steward delivers the meal i do not tip him at that time but add it to the tip i give him at the end of the cruise

I am booked on NCL and they automatically charge tipping ($10 per person per day). Do you still tip room service, etc?

Yes, you still tip room service. The auto tips are for your cabin and dining daily regular assistance.

For room service and bartender drinks, I know you need to pay the 15%. Can you add it to your bill (and sign & sail card) or should you pay them cash?

Drinks at bar already have tip included but if you want to add more, cash is best. Room service you tip when they deliver the food in cash.

We usually keep cash on hand for tips to the porter upon embarkation and upon return.. Room service, cabs at the ports and we usually tip the different excursion people...

Lougee: did you have a cabin steward deliver room service? I have never and wouldnt know how to tip in that instance. I have ordered room service many many times on our cruise and never seen the same dleivery person twice. It was always someone different.

We have always tipped $1.00 per person for room service at the time of delivery. When we had our son with us it would be $3.00, now it iws just $2.00.
