I just booked a extended balcony, mid ship on the 7th floor of the Legend to Alaska inside passage for $620 with $100 OBC and got to pick my cabin! It's the 9-8-15 date, starts in Seattle and ends in Vancouver. It's under their OH5 offer. I just can't believe some of the offers I've had lately.

I had a choice of dates one in Aug also or I could have booked them all. They told me my limit was 100 cruises as long as I book before the end of the month and the sailings are by the end of Feb 2016.

I have noticed they keep adding different ones as others get filled so I think I'll look for another in a day or 2. I already have 2 weeks booked for Southern Caribbean Oct 31th in a balcony. Some of the fairs are starting as low as $38 for solo inside. I usually look for the ones that have a discounted balcony. The one I booked today was not in my offers until today and I couldn't go on the one offered in Aug. so when I saw this one I jumped on it.

It's great to be retired and able to take advantage of last min offers. There are a few perks to getting old!

Those are casino rates he is talking about. It's good for people that gamble and cruise with Carnival to check their VIFP account, for exclusive offers, but theses are not rates available to the majority of cruisers

Agree these solo rates should not be posted unless available for everyone.

I did have one free cruise with Carnival last year but never get offered decent rates for Alaska.

I should have said that in my post. This was a deal offered under the VIFP. It's not offered under regular pricing. This deal showed up yesterday when I was checking under my VIFP.

I do gamble on board but also spend a lot on other things. The way I see it is, they give me the cruise for a great price or 'free' so I can then spend all the money I saved on the fare on board. In the end I'm spending just as much as if I have paid the full fair but having a lot of fun doing it. These cruises are usually last min and I have noticed that sometimes they only show up for a day or so as 24hr deals. My CCL personal planner sends me e-mails to alert me.

The cruise I have booked for Dec. 6 on Carnival Splendor was also a casino rate. I can't explain why, since I do not spend a lot in the casino. I only play slots, and usually only about $20 at a time. If I lose it I quit. But besides giving me a good rate, they gave me $25 in casino cash.

Slots are the only thing I play as well. For some reason the balcony's they offered this time were only extended ones in prime locations. If I took a regular or obstructed one I'd have to pay a lot more!!! That's all right with me! So I was forced to have to take an extended cabin on the 7th or 8th deck of my choice. :D

I booked an oceanview for this cruise. I'm hoping when it gets closer to sail date, they might offer a balcony at a reduced rate. That happened my last time on Carnival, but there's no guarantee of course.

okay okay... $749 then after tax&fees+vacation protection = $999 but still, a room to yourself for a week on a new ship for $1k. I'll prepay gratuities and prob buy some OBC before I embark and that's STILL an excellent deal for an all-inclusive solo vacation (I've never sailed on NCL before, but I've read enough reviews to get the gist) ...

You would probably get better rates with another line, I did. I refuse to use carnival again. I just came back from 14 night cruise in Alaska last Tuesday. Alaska is an awesome place to cruise. Beautiful and special.

Cruising solo is expensive in my area this year. Last year I got a porthole room on a 5 night cruise for $499 and I got like $70 OBC. This year in July it's like $800 for an interior room. Prices start to go down the end of August so I'm looking at a 5 night on Aug 31st. Interior is $598 if you let them pick the room. I don't want to end up with an upper/lower so my next option is pick my own interior for $658. Or I can let them pick my room for $658 and get ocean view. That would guarantee no upper/lower and I get a window. I tried to get some OBC out of them but no luck. After taxes, port fees, tips, internet, cheers, and more tips I figure I'm looking at $1250 in Sept where my total was about $950 last year in July. I have to book this weekend or roll the dice because their rep said the prices are going up to $800 next week.

I gave in and booked this morning. Now watch the price go down tomorrow

And the vacation planner lied to me because since I booked the price stayed the same...then this morning it went DOWN $40. They won't give me an upgrade or OBC because I booked under super saver and they say this lower price is only for new bookings... But I'm not happy the PVC told me the price was going up when it wasn't just to get me to book.

It's the PVP's job to get people to book with them,so they can get the credit.

They can never predict if a sailing price will go up or down. Just like any salesperson, they want to create the illusion of " buy now, before its too late."

With super saver its really not worth it to even look at your price again, since you are locked in and can't be adjusted or upgraded. It will only make you more upset.

Hope you have a great cruise.

This isn't the most amazing deal compared to what's been offered in the past. But with what we solos have been served up this year, it doesn't look horrible to me if you're a mouse fan. And it's almost $500 cheaper today than yesterday.

Disney Wonder, Panama Canal cruise from Miami to San Diego.

14 days leaving May 1'16.

Inside cat 11C $2184 + $293 tax/fee + $168 tips = $2477 ($189 / day)

Feb 2015 3 weeks solo cabin on ncl epic grand Canary / Morocco/ and med 1633$

Thanks for the pointer. I've never sailed in a studio before, but all of the off-season Epic Med. ones are pretty cheap. The cheapest one is 21 days leaving Nov 27'16 for $1349++ ($84/day with tax & tips). They look like they're all under $100/day all-in (other than Christmas & New Year) from that cruise all the way to early April 2017.

I'm tempted.

Go for it. I mostly love transatlantic cruises but I'm doing this because of the great deal. Also so I can tick the places of my list for places I have been. And relax later in the year on a more sea days kind of cruise[emoji6][emoji41]

Heads up to anyone looking for a sail experience... Star Clippers currently has a "no single supplement" deal on some Mediterranean and Caribbean cruises. Tall ship experience was on my bucket list so I went ahead and booked yesterday for (in my case) a 7 night sailing on the Royal Clipper out of Bridgetown in February. Cost of $1,575 for a cruise that would otherwise have cost me $3,450 as a single :)

I have also always wanted to sail on

one of those Tall Ships. However, I

did not want to be the only single

on a cruise with pretty much all couples.

Now Singles Cruise, has chartered

an entire Tall Ship called the SS Mandalay

cruising out of Grenada, next July.

So everyone on this particular cruise will

be single. No more than 58 people.

Should be a blast, already booked..

The prices are similar to those mentioned earlier..

Go if you can..............it is a fabulous cruise/time!!!

Loved the tall ship cruising experience; totally different than the classic cruise ship cruise. It is relaxing, casual and everyone, including, officers, crew and passengers, are marvelous!!
