discounts: if you sign into "my cruises" on ncl...since they have your latitude number...checking out cruises, you can "sometime" see a discount. the most i have seen was $50 pp.

check-in: depending on what time you go, there may not be a line.

usually there is someone asking if you have cruise with NCL before and will point you to the check-in line. just remember, you don't HAVE to use that line...use the shortest! last cruise, we were early...no one in the latitude line. that was very nice and quick check-in.

So does that mean if I am Silver and Husband is Bronze that only I can go to the "Exclusive Gathering" whatever that is?

They will allow anyone in your cabin to go with you. We did this on our last cruise and my sister in law who was staying in our cabin came with us.

Yes, they do. One of my pet peeves is that someone with 5 one night cruises gets silver while I remain bronze with 44 nights (2 cruises).

I agree when we went out our transatlantic cruise it was 15 days and we only got one point. I didnt think that was fair either, but what can we do?

Although this will be my 2nd cruise so I should receive Latitudes check-in, does this work like those w/ suites? Is there a separate check-in line? I was so overwhelmed during my 1st cruise I missed an awful lot. Thanks to the CC website, my family & I will be much better prepared.

Thanks. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone:)

Yes there is a seperate line for latitudes when you arrive at the pier let them know you are latitudes because sometimes they don't even bother to ask you, and stick you wherever...just be sure to speak up.

I've done both types of cruises...long and short - one 13 niter - one 14 niter - one 8 niter - one 7 niter and two 1 niters - one of my pet peeves is people who have pet peeves about this subject

We all CHOOSE the length of time of the cruises that we take and we KNOW the cruiseline's guidelines on giving credit for cruises...so WHAT IS THE PROBLEM!!!

Would I like to get more credit for my 14 niter than for my one niter - sure but not at the expense of my 1- 2 niters not counting.....but I don't lose sleep over it....There are more important things in life to lose sleep over

Some of us take the 1 niters to just get away - sometimes it's cheaper than a nite out in the Big Apple......and having the perk of the cruise counting towards Latitudes levels is nice considering that sometimes the 1 niters COST close to JUST AS MUCH as a 3-4-5 day cruise offered on the cheap (i.e. $99 per nite)

so...just let it be...find something else to gripe or have a peeve about....

NCL boasts that their 1-2 nite cruises count for Latitudes levels as a BIG part of their sales pitch and that it separates them from the "other" cruise lines..so they won't be changing it anytime soon..

So Jeff (if you're reading) and anyone else....leave it alone...and happy cruising to all...

JMHO along with my $ .02

You're entitled to your opinion AND I'M ENTITLED TO MINE!

The problem is NCL's claim last year thatthere would be mprovements to the lattues program and I don't see any.

Really? Do you think you spend anywhere near as much on drinks and in the casino? If the casino is open, chances arewe're ther as anyone who has cruised with s can testify.

You're right though. It's my decision. I keep hoping for better but then again I gamble in the casino too.

It would seem that breakfast at Cagney's is for AD and above and an occasional VIP chosen by the cruise line. However on the Dawn, Balcony passangers are welcome to Aqua for breakfast. It is not a latitudes perk, it is a price of room perk.
It's for all penthouse suites, including AE Penthouse Suites.

I have a question about the Aqua (or similar restaurant) breakfast. I've only seen it mentioned as a perk for "balcony" passengers. Are mini-suite passengers included (I hope)?

I'll be on the Dawn in January and am a silver member. What nights are the cocktail party for past guests and what day/night is the exclusive gathering. What is the dress for each. Thanks

Dress is pretty much open, like everything else on NCL. The cocktail party wil be held on a sea day, but which one is anyone's guess and what time. They can be early afternoon or late afternoon. Rarely are they at night, at least that has been our experience.

I think the dress is just casual....usually they try to do parties on Sea Days..depending on the length of the Cruise I guess.

Hey MrLee...I meant no harm in my post...just venting I guess..it's been a bad day and the post just reminded me of the ENDLESS debate on the recent cruise with someone in our group who couldn't just agree to disagree on the subject and the person actually thought that if they complained enough to the Hotel Diector Hugo. during the cruise,.that he would be able to change NCL's corporate policy right then and there.....lol - it was the constant annoying part of an otherwise amazing cruise...

yet now he is looking at the 1 niters to "up" his level....go figure...

I didn't mean to come off crazy or mean or anything...I too hope for things to change..in particular that the single supplement fare be done away with forever...why penalize sol travelers? but hey,,,that's a whole other thread...lol... take care all...Marla

No problem Marla. I guess now that I'm back and going through the treatments again, it's making me a bit cranky. :D

Someone in an earlier post mentioned checking on the membership level. Is there a way to do this on line? I've been all over the website and can't locate anything. Thanks!

Do you have a NCL online account? If so log in, if not make an account.

https://www.ncl.com/nclweb/secure/bookedGuestLanding.html;jsessionid=JtQbnp4F3ylQpNRTslYVGTnxZdGTwLJ0!1777483789

Once you log in you say see on the side, it says your name latitudes number and your level.

Thanks Travel Lover--I do have a sign-on, but only my name and membership number shows up. I'll have to check into it. Thanks for the information.

Strange. When I log in, in the upper right corner, it shows my name, below that my latitudes number and, below that, my level.

if, when you signed up for "my cruises" on ncl, you didn't fill out your past cruise information...it won't show up. also, when you book your cruise, some people have gotten a new latitude number. you need to double check that all your cruises are put under the same latitude number. you can do that by calling the latitude department ( 1.800.343.0098)

you can sign up again (for "my cruises" on ncl.com) and create a different sign in, if you know your latitude number (should be on your paperwork for last past cruise) add it. if you don't know your latitude number, call have them link your past cruises to your "my cruises" account.
