I have spoken with several people who were on the tour of Iguazu Falls. Yes, there were glitches, which began when the ship was not cleared by the local authorities until well after the hoped-for time. But they were thrilled to see what they saw. Each passenger on this tour will receive a $300 refund and dinner in Portofino.

Maybe some were........I can tell you that Bobbie was very disappointed in what she saw. The day was, in round figures, $900.00 per person for the excursion.

Knowing that they would not be able to see much of the falls........they really should have been given the opportunity to not go and get a full refund. That is a great deal of money............not to be able to see what the falls are all about.

So, Carol.........now that it's a few sea days before land again........what are you doing with yourself??:D:rolleyes:

We had a private tour (thank you, Jane! (astralj)) to an estancia (ranch) outside of Buenos Aires. It was a fantastic, amazing day. First, there was a long-ish bus ride, but it was enlightening to drive through the countryside. Our guide, Susanah, was fascinating, friendly and sweet. We stopped at a "gas station/rest stop" that had a very nice gift shop. I bought some very nice necklaces, and others bought leather goods and local wine. (more about that later)

The Estancia is called Ombu. We rode horses, saw a gaucho show, had a MEAT lunch with singer and guitarist. There was a swimming pool, which I jumped into after the horseback riding, but no one else did. VERY refreshing.

And now, the pictures.

Of course, I had to have my own personal gaucho:

Carol,

Is that a female cow or a male?

Inquiring minds wish to know. :)

No such thing as a male cow...:D

Males are Bulls or Steers (depending on if they have all their parts or not)

Females are first Heifers and after giving birth are then Cows...

Eric on VOTS gets some odd idea that after the cow gives birth she is decaffinated.
