What's enough time to get to MIA

Hi,

 

I'm going on the NCL Pearl in March and am wondering if it is a enough time for me to catch a 11:40am flight out of MIA if the itinerary says that ship arrives in Miami port at 8am?

 

is 3:40 hrs enough?

If everything goes just right, then you should be ok. But, Miami is probably one of the worst airports in the world. Lines for check in and security are the worst I've seen in the US.

Yes, you can probably make a 11:40 a.m. flight, but there is never any guarentee. We barely made our 12:45 p.m. (I've forgotten the exact time but that's close) last Feb so personally I would never ever book anything out of Miami earlier than 12 p.m. for any reason and for that airport would always prefer closer to 1 p.m. as the earliest.

As stated, it might be risky. But I think you should be A OK.

Many times you would be fine, but I have missed an 11:40 flight out of MIA after a cruise so I wouldn't do it myself.

Your ship docks at 8pm-- then it must clear before anyone is let off.

Early self disembarkation passengers will be let off when its cleared.

IF you can handle all your luggage and walk off the ship unassisted then you could do that flight. You will be at the airport by 9:30 at the latest

Yes--you'll have time. That's the flight we always take (11:45) and we're at the airport HOURS before we need to be!

We never do "self-carry" of luggage!

I would pick a later flight. You may be OK but you may not and why spend the cruise worrying about it.
