navybaby1113 Posted February 27, 2009 #3 Share Posted February 27, 2009 Or you could always call room service.
Sheffie Posted February 27, 2009 #4 Share Posted February 27, 2009 I am sure it would be fine. That is more clothes than most people wear during the daytime! (think swimsuit)

NetwrkEng Posted February 27, 2009 #6 Share Posted February 27, 2009 Hi... I sometimes can't slepp & need a cup of tea...wondering if it's OK to walk around the ship in my slippers & robe???:o Do you go to local restaurants, the grocery store, the mall in your robe and slippers? The only possible place I would hope to see someone in their robe and slippers on a cruise would be in the spa.
bojomitch Posted February 27, 2009 #7 Share Posted February 27, 2009 The cruise lines I have been on ask guests to please refrain from wearing robes provided by the cruise line in the public areas.:):):)
uppitycats Posted February 27, 2009 #8 Share Posted February 27, 2009 If you need a cup of tea in the middle of the night, here are your options: call room service use the coffee pot in your room to heat water to make tea\ make a pot of tea (bring a thermos!) before you go to bed at night DON'T walk around in jammies and slippers in public places!! Do you do that at home? (if so, I don't really want to know!)

6rugrats Posted February 27, 2009 #10 Share Posted February 27, 2009 Hi... I sometimes can't slepp & need a cup of tea...wondering if it's OK to walk around the ship in my slippers & robe???:o No, it's tacky. It's easy enough to get dressed if you need to walk around. Not sure where you would be able to get tea in the middle of the night. I would call room service.
TheVegasMan Posted February 27, 2009 #11 Share Posted February 27, 2009 The cruise lines I have been on ask guests to please refrain from wearing robes provided by the cruise line in the public areas.:):):)And the Carnival Victory has a robe and pajama party. As long as the pjs don't have any convenience openings, should be ok. I wonder who will get the stranger looks, the op or the people just getting in from the casino or disco at 3:00 am? TheVegasMan Posted February 27, 2009 #12 Share Posted February 27, 2009 Not sure where you would be able to get tea in the middle of the night. It's called the Lido deck on most ships.
RetireeWannabee Posted February 27, 2009 #13 Share Posted February 27, 2009 If you want tea, call room service. For all other things, such as stroll around the deck, change of scenery, whatever, you really should dress. I'm sorry you get insomnia. It is absolutely a drag. Treven Posted February 27, 2009 #14 Share Posted February 27, 2009 I'm considering going to the buffet for breakfast in my jammies, robe & slippers with a teddy bear under my arm. I bought some new satin jammies & robe just for the occasion.
gerif Posted February 27, 2009 #15 Share Posted February 27, 2009 Would you do this in a nice hotel? If the answer is yes, then, really, you don't care so why even ask. How hard is it to throw on a pair of shorts and a t-shirt? Slippers are fine.
cb at sea Posted February 27, 2009 #16 Share Posted February 27, 2009 Bring a pair of sweats and a t-shirt for roaming the ship, if you don't want to wear "real" clothes!
lisid Posted February 27, 2009 Author #17 Share Posted February 27, 2009 Thanks for the advice everyone...there were a few who seemed a little angry...let me set the scene a little better...we have an inside cabin for 4 (2kids 1 hubby & me)...can't call room service & wake the whole family...from my understanding these cabins (NCL Majesty) are very tiny so I would probably wake everyone getting dressed...by PJ's I don't mean anything "sexy", or "slinky"...and I'd prefer slippers to flip/flops as a courtesy to other guests...don't want to be "flip-floppin'" by peoples rooms in the middle of the night....A thermos sounds like it may work...thanks for that. My "insomnia" is actually caused by claustrophobia so I may need to "seek air". Thank you all...didn't mean to offend!:D
punkmuse Posted February 27, 2009 #18 Share Posted February 27, 2009 honestly if i saw someone walking around in a robe and slippers i would have a little chuckle to myself, probably smile at them, and wish i was doing the same thing. if you dont care what people think about you then i say GO FOR IT! a robe and slippers is far better than a lot of things people where. :D
BonnieVA Posted February 27, 2009 #19 Share Posted February 27, 2009 Honestly, if it were the middle of the night & I saw someone walking around, dressed modestly in pjs/robe & slippers I'd have no problem whatsoever with that. I would assume the person was just having trouble sleeping.
eandj Posted February 27, 2009 #20 Share Posted February 27, 2009 You are definitely right that the Majest has stamp size rooms compared to the newer ships. We were on this ship over 15 years ago and had 3 in our room. EEK That was too many! Back to your question. Since you will probably need to get out due to your claustrophobia, Why not pack some cotton drawstring sleeping pants and a t shirt. There are cute plaids and prints. Won't need a robe actually with that on. True sweats will be too hot.

Sea Hag Posted February 27, 2009 #22 Share Posted February 27, 2009 Your robe and slippers wouldn't bother me any, in the unlikely event that I was up late enough to see you! Having said that, I'd think the sweats suggestion might be a better way to go. Seems to me that you might be able to get into that without waking everybody up if you leave it strategically placed - possibly near the bathroom door where you could pick it up then go in there to change quietly. I sometimes can't slepp & need a cup of tea...wondering if it's OK to walk around the ship in my slippers & robe???:o Just don't do like this one woman on my 2007 cruise. I was on the computer late at night (around 2 a.m.) when a woman was walkin around in her robe trying to recall her cabin number :D:D!! It was our first night on the cruise!! QLUVS2CRUZ Posted February 27, 2009 #24 Share Posted February 27, 2009 If all you are doing is going to get a cup of tea in the middle of the night...I think you'd be fine to walk around in your pjs and robe. I personally wouldn't give it a second look if I saw someone on my cruise doing that.
