SkiCruiser44 Posted March 13, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 13, 2009 Are the doors sliding doors or do you have to push them open? I love to sleep with the door open at night. We're in 7102 - anyone have the cabin or one near it? Thanks
clivep Posted March 13, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 13, 2009 Yes they are sliding (from my experience anyway). We also sleep with them wide open even in the Med in November. Usually they stay in the position you put them in but we have had the occasional ship movement where the door slides shut. Unfortunately there is no way to turn off the air con on the ships I have so far sailed on. They request that you keep the door shut to save energy in running the air-con so to be greener I would like to turn it off but can't. I should add that we have not yet been on Azamara (that will be next month) but I've been on Celebrity and RCL and would expect Azamara to have similar doors. critterchick Posted March 14, 2009 #3 Share Posted March 14, 2009 The balcony doors on Azamara are indeed sliders.:)

We're in 7102 - anyone have the cabin or one near it? Thanks We just returned in mid Febuary and the doors are sliding. But you have to rotate the handle up and then once open you rotate the handle down and the door will stay in that position. The door was sliding shut on me also until I figured out how to secure it. Enjoy your cruise.
SkiCruiser44 Posted March 14, 2009 Author #5 Share Posted March 14, 2009 Thanks - that's what I was hoping - I love the sound of the waves and smell of the ocean!! Only 6 months to go until we sail.
capegranny Posted April 13, 2009 #6 Share Posted April 13, 2009 That's probably okay when you're at seas, but I wouldn't recommend it if you're in or near a port; flying insects love open doors!
