The French Onion soup was really good. Mudslide was also excellent!!!

I forgot about the French Onion soup in Chops! I ordered it last year and it was yummy.

My husband always gets the shrimp cocktail; we both get filet, and every time it's been excellent. The sides are all good too, especially the creamed spinach. My mouth is watering thinking about it!!

The 3 men in our dinner group (at Portos) all ordered the INSALATA DI PERE E GORGONZOLA. They were very impressed. It sounded like a strange combo but they were all raving about it. The flourless choc cake is wonderful if you like thick, deep dark choc flavor. The pasta/mushroom dish was, I believe, marscapone (sp), I will definitely order it. They gave us sample plates for the table to share of all 3 pasta offerings. Great food !

just one query why would the steak quality be different in either Chops or Portifino .Surely the buyers for the cruise line would ensure that the steaks were of an equal quality?

Not really--but I hear that on some ships you can order the better steak for around $15.00--one of Royal C's gauche innovations.
