Passport and/or birth certificate

It may be the excitement of leaving in 3 days, but here goes. If you have your current US passport and picture id (license), do you need your birth certificate as well? I just can't remember what we had last time. Thanks

If you take a valid passport, you do not need to take a birth certificate.

Nope, no birth certificate...at least I've never taken mine. Passport always works...not even sure I've had to have a separate ID since the passport has a picture.

If you're taking a passport, you also don't need a driver's license--unless you drive to the port or you're planning on renting a car.

Bring your drivers lic, anyway---if you don't want to carry your passport ashore you may need your DL to reboard the ship--and you should always have ID on you!

I agree. Still bring the drivers' license.

I take both a drivers license and my passport because then I have two forms of photo ID, should I need it. No birth certificate, though.

They ask for pic I.D. and sailcard at most ports,so taking drivers license is a good idea

All good replies. If you have time, make photo copies of all this documentation and keep it in a different place - just in case.
