Mr Retired Posted May 19, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 19, 2009 I've found conflicting answers to these questions on using credits on Voyager, as I review the many Regent threads. Can any of you folks be definitive? 1. Can they be used in the casino? 2. Can they be used for personal tours in port booked onboard? If in St Petersburg, does the blanket Regent visa cover us, or do we need to get a visa in advance? 3. If unused by cruise end, can they be cashed or credited to a future cruise? Many thanks

lkakers Posted May 22, 2009 #3 Share Posted May 22, 2009 I would amend Jan's responses slightly: #2: If you're taking a Regent excursion, you're covered by their blanket Visa. If you're not, I believe her answer is correct. Interestingly, my recent cruise docked in Petropavlovsk, Russia (East coast -- Siberia), and we were allowed to disembark without being part of a tour. Though the Russian immigration people on board examined our passports, and the Russian stamps therein before we were able to disembark. :) #3: Sometime after you board, you'll receive an envelope containing cards that indicate all your different shipboard credits. If they say "not redeemable for credit," obviously you can't cash them out. Ones that say "redeemable for credit" could be cashed out.
Donaldm Posted May 27, 2009 #4 Share Posted May 27, 2009 Ask the reception desk how much of your on board is redeemable for cash. Last December on the Mariner the reception desk personnel offered me cash on the spot for $1,200 of my $1,600 in credit. Not all of my credit memos for the $1,200 stated it was redeemable for cash. Wendy The Wanderer Posted May 27, 2009 #5 Share Posted May 27, 2009 I think the casino questino is open to opinion--I've always thought that you could NOT use a credit for the casino, but I admit I've never tried it. This should be a FAQ item on the Regent website. Too much to ask I guess.

Many thanks Well, I know other members have had exepriences different from mine, but this is EXACTLY what happened on our last cruise (Regent PG Brisbane to Papeete, embarked Feb. 5) Our onboard credits were provided by Regent (some just becasue we are such nice people and some as a refund of a fuel surcharge which had been rescinded before embarking.) We used the credit for ALL Regent excursions (they were charging for them in those days) AND CASHED IN THE REST FOR CASH. Once it was cash we could, of course, have used it in the Casino (but the Casino works only on cash, so I am sure you could not just charge your gambling to your account.) We could not use the onboard credits for private excursions because, of course, Regent wasn't paying the provider for those (we were) and the payment was made on the spot in cash (again, of course, with the cash from the OBC we could have used that moeny to pay for the private excursions.)
