Dawn princess drydock

Does anyone know what the Dawn Princess will have done to her during Drydock???? Anything major?

I think they are fitting the big movie screen ,

for MUTS,

(Movies Under The Stars),

and they will also be giving her a good going over and spruce up ,

ready for her World Cruise.

Wonder what the crew do while she is there?

Are they sent home?

Do they stay on board and clean?

hi David, when we were on the Hawaii cruise we asked some staff in the Horizon court what would they be doing and they said business as usual but they would only be doing 8 hours a day,they have to feed the other tradesmen..........maybe a few of the officers may have some R&R, we didnt ask them

Kiwi Kruzer is correct, the Dawn Princess is getting a MUTS, (Movies under the Stars) screen, and a general spruce up & she’s also getting the oasis area as well.

We spoke to our cabin steward on the weekend and she said that she was staying onboard to clean while the ship is in drydock.

If they make an Oasis area there will be even less public space available...the ship needs new mattresses and pillows!

 

MUTS will be a great addition. A general spruce up with have her looking her best too.

Yes Susan, those pillows and mattresses were a disgrace as well as the bedlinen:mad:. My bed sagged and hubbies was as hard as a rock:(.

I believe the casino is also getting new machines and new felt on the tables.

 

Drewrell I look forward to hearing about the spruce up as she definitely needs it.

a few pics dawn princess in dry dock today we had lunch with a couple of crew off her as well she is getting an huge out door tv and some painting and some glass replaced and a couple of other things that they could say what they were , one was ken the photographer.

Gee, my husband and I must be easy to please, because we found the mattress fabulous, as well as the pillows and he is quite fussy when it comes to pillows.

 

In reading the threads on the Princess boards, I have never been able to understand why people find the bedding so uncomfortable?

thynne rd colmslie or balmoral on the sth side you can drive as far as the front gate. on the nrth side you go to port side or macarthur ave but its a fear way away, the photos i put up are from out side cairns cross dock yard thynne rd.

Someone mentioned earlier on in this thread that the Dawn Princess will be getting an 'oasis area' while in dry dock. What is that specifically?

An oasis area is a child free area on a special closed in part of a deck where you pay to lounge on lounge chairs, and get water, ice creams and magazines.

 

Apparently they are very nice, but a lot of cruisers dont like paying extra to be able to use this area.
