Dawn princess drydock

Recommended Posts

Lol Kiwi Kruzer, well worded. :D

With the way the swine flu is going in Victoria maybe they will build a "brig" on the ship whilst she is in dry dock, to keep all the Victorians in quarintine.

I second that... we have the best available at home and found that the DP was just as good.

May be just luck of the draw?

I have to agree. We just got off the dawn princess and found the bed and bedding wonderful.

In fact the whole ship was amazing. I think they may be doing something in the casino as there was a huge space there. Hubby seems to think it was where the smoking/sports area on the sun princess was.

There was also a heap of workers boarding as we got off. We stayed around at portside with some of our friends trying to extend the weekend as long as possible

That empty area in the Casino is where they took out all the American slots and the gaming machines that are not permitted in Australia.

When we did the Round Australia cruise, its first down here, they worked on that in the first few days and it was all closed off.

Hope they use it for something other than Art Auctions:mad:

Thanks for that info. They did the art action in the atrium, yes even a 2 dayer got an art auction. They must make some money out of it...

Hi,

I just had lunch with a few of the crew from the Dawn Princess. They were telling me the ship is having a lot of work done to it.

The entire ship is being re-carpeted and they are stripping all of the dining rooms, buffet areas and re-doing them all. They are pretty excited about the movies under the stars. They said whenever you walk up on deck at night the screen will be on, whether it will be playing a movie or music videos.

Since the ship arrived in drydock, the staff have not been allowed off the ship before today as they have all been given medication for Swine Flu. At one stage they were not even sure they would be allowed in with all of the Swine Flu scares. They are glad to be here though!

Those progress photos of her in dry dock are excellent. Makes me wish I was cruising on her sooner rather than later. It'll be wonderful for those of you who can enjoy the two day cruise to Sydney. Don't mess her up will you...lol.

Isn't strange how any photographs of cruise ships give us all itchy feet to be cruising somewhere, well anywhere really. ;)

Oh well, back to reality..... better think about what to prepare for dinner......

Just been looking at the Princess website & it looks like the MUTS (Movies Under the Stars) is just about installed.

WOW....

Thats amazing...

How would you like a screen that big in you lounge?

Must have got some looks on the Brisbane River when it floated across:eek:

sorry it was to be of the huge tv they are putting on the dawn princess

I think the photos just keep revolving. I am still on the fence about the MUTS though.

will they have earphones or will it be blasting out all the time.
