Gail Boertzel Posted June 9, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 9, 2009 On NCL last year parents were able to sign form at main desk permitting son/daughter who was under 21 the right to buy a beer or glass of wine at ship's bar. Does Carnival have something similar? Unable to find on Carnival's website. Thanks!

Ken076 Posted June 9, 2009 #7 Share Posted June 9, 2009 Carnival's stated Polciy is no-one under 21. For what it's worth, Your cruise contract also states that Carnival can Disembark you/family without compensation or a return ticket for purchasing alcohol for a minor (under 21). ken
rkacruiser Posted June 9, 2009 #8 Share Posted June 9, 2009 On Freedom, I saw bartenders asking for ID and refusing to serve if one was under 21. Good for Carnival!!
Uncle Doug Posted June 10, 2009 #9 Share Posted June 10, 2009 No, at 18 they can not buy beer but they can gamble in the casino. Go figure.
starstruck05 Posted June 10, 2009 #10 Share Posted June 10, 2009 No, at 18 they can not buy beer but they can gamble in the casino. Go figure. Its only like that because of the US laws that everyone ahs to be 21 to purchase beer and such. But different states have different gambling laws. Like before I was 21 I could buy lotto tickets in IL. while there visiting my friend but at home in Louisiana I couldn't buy any until I was 21. So i figure they choose the minimum age for gambling but stuck to US rules for booze. I feel like if your old enough to vote you should be old enough to drink and gamble. However not at 18 but rather 19 so you at least should be out of high school. (since some people are 18 in high school.) Not that drinking and gambiling is all its cracked up to be. I did it all before I was 21 and now that I am 21 I hardly do either. I buy scratch offs and go to the casino with my mom and grandma and thats about it.
