AB Penthouse on the Jewel question.

The description of the AB Penthouse states a separate bedroom with a queen bed and a separate children's bedroom.

Can anyone tell me where the children's room is? I'm just not seeing it on the floorplan.

I want to have my DD and her husband in the large bedroom and me alone in the smaller one. Will this work or, if you've been in any AB Penthouse, would you recommend I reserve 2 balcony cabins instead of the AB? I'm sort of spoiled for a butler but I can do without. ;)

The cruise is Jan, 2010 to Western Caribbean.

Thanks for your help.

I would never pass on an AB suite. They are my favorite rooms. The second bedroom is usually just off the entrance as soon as you enter the suite. At least in the ones we've been in. It has it's own bath also. Your idea will work. We've done that very thing with my son and his wife. Worked out great. And you're right about the Butler. Adds a lot to it. Go for the AB.

The AB has a wonderful master bedroom. The other room is a bit smaller than a normal inside...pull out bed, or pull down pullman, your choice. Small tv and full normal bath. Separate door.

Then you have the great dining and sitting area.

Somebody posted a nice floorplan not too long ago. Maybe a search on Penthouse would help. This is a wonderful suite.

Thanks you guys! :) I always get such good advice here on CC. I finally Googled Jewel AB Penthouse and found some great pictures that someone posted on WebShots and it showed the kids room. That will be perfect for us! Added bonus is separate bath too! ;)

NCL special for that sailing is $99.00 for 3-8 persons so I scored big time on this! Got it booked. :D

This will be my 3rd suite with Butler and Concierge and all the perks that go with a Suite and I gotta tell ya that a balcony or inside sounds pretty awful to me now. :p Spoiled by the Suite life. ;)

Thanks again for your advice and knowledge. :)

The AB should be a really good cabin for your family. I just spent a week on the Pearl (same basic layout as the Jewel). DH and I had an AB and our two teen sons had a connecting AF.

You will love the layout and the privacy in the AB. One thing that is hard to appreciate by just looking at the floor plans is the number of doors. There is a door between the entryway and the small bedroom. There is another one between the entryway and the living/dining area. There is a pocket door between the living/dining area and the master bed/bath area. There is plenty of privacy possible in this relatively small space.

I hope you have a great cruise!

Thanks so much for that added information about privacy. I want my DD and her hubby to have their privacy but I also want the Suite perks for me so this sounds perfect for us. :)

I appreciate all the replies. :)

We cruise next week on the Jewel in an AB Penthouse.. 2 adults and 3 children. I'll take pictures and let you know how it is. I appreciate reading what has been written. First time in a suite and totally looking forward to it.

The biggest problem I have with the AB suites is the jacuzzi tub ib the master bathroom. It sits next to a big window where you can sit and watch the world go by. The problem is getting out of it. Plus there's a TV over it.

Make sure you totally utilize your suite perks! You can eat breakfast and lunch in Cagneys at no extra charge, order anything from room service, have full breakfasts served, order DVD's from your Butler, have your concierge escort you off the ship before the common, have concierge take you to the chocolate buffet before it opens for pictures...I'm sure there's lots more tips that Grandpaul or others can give you. Once in a suite it's really hard to go back!!! I've only been in 2 suites both were on the Sun and I loved our butlers! The first concierge was worthless, the second was a gift from heaven!! Enjoy your cruise!:)

I also believe there is a special roped off area in the balcony of the theatre just for CV guests.

Thanks. I've never been in a CV suite but in our other suites there was a section for suite guests. I didn't notice it was roped off....just reserved. We utilized that perk only once but it's another good suite perk. :)

Anyone else have more suite tips?
