WRONG!

They are not allowed by law to go past the occupancy rate of 2758... period! It did not happen, could not happen and will not happen. Sometimes when you are trying to get a room at the last minute there allow only 2 to a room even if the room will accommodate more... because they want to sell the remaining cabins but can only put two to a room so as not to exceed the occupancy.

I have to say that you are the one that is WRONG!

The 2758 is based on 2 people per cabin. That is full. Capacity is some number over that as set by the CG.

Hey Bobsfamily, where didja go? You were SO rudely adamant to the OP, and so incorrect at the same time.

When ships' capacities are listed, they're based on two people in EVERY cabin. Many cabins can hold more people, thereby raising the capacity.

The Oasis of the Seas is listed as 5,400 (oy!) capacity based on double. It's about 6,200 if it was fully loaded.

AND I've heard people from NCL on cruise documentaries say they're happy when the ship is at 105%, not 100%.

To quote YOU, how hard is this to understand?

Okay everyone I DO apologize for continuing this and staying off topic, but people who are SOOOOOO rude REALLY annoy me on boards, and when they're just WRONG, it irks me more so I had to say something.

Continue with your review. I've never even been on a Carnie ship but I enjoy reading reviews of them.

Thanks for the review OP, sorry you had some issues with your cruise.

Hopefully Bob will not be on your next thread so we can get some useful information. He must be real fun to live with:eek:

Question for you.... you made a statement that on Deck 2 of this ship there are staterooms that can accommodate up to 6 guests... I would like to know what category that is. I have never heard of a stateroom on this ship that will accommodate more than 5 guests max.

As for Bob's Family member.... hit the ignore button !

Category would be 6C or 6B on Main deck. Twin/king, single convertible sofa and upper. There is still space for a roll away bed in the cabin. These categories are outside cabins. Had one the first trip on Triumph and it was so big you could easily have a party in it!

Only down side -- disembarkation. Since you leave from Main deck, no one would easily allow us to get out of our cabin to join the line! People just kept streaming past without a break.

I scrolled through 7 pages to read his apology but didn't see it.

Time to man up Bob.

Try post #102... Here it is again: Because I for once did what I hate here... spoofed a bunch of people... sorry, but it was fun. And that quote came from the Carnival extranet website talking about max capacity.

But you didn't spoof anyone - you said something we pretty much ALL knew to be untrue, and we told you so. You may have ticked people off with your arrogance, but you certainly didn't "spoof" anyone or make anyone think something untrue. You just made yourself look foolish.

The initial "complaint" seems to be the result of not arriving at the port early enough to avoid the crowds.

Tsk' date=' tsk.

I can't wait to read the rest.....being a veteran of 5 cruises on Triumph - one of my favorite Carnival ships.

Bring it on....[/quote']

Sad. The OP did not even get a chance to start her review and the number one cheerleader for Arison bunch comes running. Why am I not surprised?

Nope... you are wrong... They do not have enough lifeboats and vests for that many guests. You can have all the rooms you want but if the seats are not on a lifeboat you are not putting them on the ship. Many times a ship sails with cabins empty and the pursers office will NEVER admit it. Your number would be over 125% occupancy and the coast guard would never allow it. Where did you get that number anyway?

LOL!!!! Zap, smack and bam. Someone just got put into their place. Sir Bob, you're the one that has been totally incorrect this entire thread. When a ship sails at 100% capacity in the cruise industry that means that all LOWER berths are full. Any third or fourth berth that sails with a person brings the occupancy up over 100%. Me thinks that someone needs to take a few more cruises.;)

.............and now looks even MORE pathetic by attempting to cover up the persistent and incorrect posts with the "I was only kidding" theme. Tsk.

there was only 1 port, saint john. we did not do a tour, we just walked around which was very boring. there realy is nothing much to see on foot. you may want to do an organized tour. we thought we'd enjoy the ship to ourselves but the movie screen was so loud we could not enjoy being on the pool deck. also, only 1 other bar on the ship was open while in port.

I enjoy reading all reviews good and bad.....mgmigs......I also think the sound on the big screens is too loud, but I'm surprised that you didn't find more bars open.

I frequently don't leave the ship when it's in port and usually find at least the lobby bar, casino bar (but sometimes not until afternoon) and all the bars on the lido deck open. If I counted right on the Triumph that would be 5 bars open when in port (there are 3 on the Lido deck)

But at any rate, you seem to have found some enjoyable things to post. I've been very lucky to have never really experienced any of the negative things many people post about. I'm not sure why that is, maybe after 16 CCL cruises I've just grown used to the rhythm of the Carnival experience.

I did have one set of DR waiters that weren't to attentive, and a couple of times my cabin steward seemed slow about getting the beds made, but it didn't really cause me any inconvenience.
