Cocierge Escort Dawn

I have to say that it sometimes gets confusing what the perks are. Last year we were in just a regular balcony--we received a bottle of champagne in the room and also notification of a special breakfast restaurant just for balcony folks--this was on the Boston Bermuda cruise....

I hope some cruiser new to NCL doesn't read that and expect to get a bottle of champagne in his/her balcony cabin. That is definitely not a routine benefit of a balcony cabin. I trust you enjoyed it :)

With regards to the staffers posting on the NCL website although someone commented that the reply was out dated, the staffer reply posted on the NCL website was only posted 1 month, 4 weeks ago.

Now that begs to ask the question is the NCL staff so missinformed? Or is this in fact a policy?

Most companies are EXTREMELY careful about what they allow on their website.

op1 - pax that are escorted are in full suites (usually cats AE and up). They will either be escorted by their butler, or if the butler is unavailable, they will be assigned a crew member who will carry their bags and escort them to the suite. As one poster already mentioned, depending upon what time you board, you may be escorted to your cabin by one of the crew (usually happens after cabins are announced as available maybe 1:30-2:00PM) so no, NCL is not misstating anything....if you wait to board you can be escorted.

We always board early (we like to start our vacation as fast as possible) - I cannot think of any time that our suite wasn't ready when we boarded (usually around 11:30 or so).

We tend to repeat in the same cabins on Dawn and Pearl so know exactly how to get there when we board (escort or not). We love those two ships!

NCL customer service staff doesn't exactly have a sterling reputation for giving out accurate information. It's not unheard of for two cruisers asking the same question to get conflicting answers from them.

But they don't say you have to wait to board after the cabins are ready to get an escort. They say you get an escort, period, so it is a misstatement.

What is the big whoop dee doo about getting an escort to your cabin. Part of the fun of cruising is to get onboard and find your way around.

Geez!

The only place I want to be escorted is to the MDR... No need to escort me to my room as I posted earlier.

Now priority boarding and extended dining reservations, thats a different story. Don't get me wrong I like NCL. I think you get a decent cruise with them. But they do have issues with communicating. I can tell you from past experience and that can hurt them. I hate to see when stupid little things hurt good companies. So what you find as policy in one place or by one person is not so by someone else. Like someone said its pot luck hit or miss.

How does it hurt them? So let's say I am expecting these perks because their staff posted something eroneously and I don't get it. I would feel cheated. If on the other hand their website had a big NO PERKS for you sign, but I was given these perks I would feel like wow that was nice.

Ok dead horse now.
