DrivesLikeMario Posted May 19, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 19, 2017 Normally I'd use Dial 7 but the Princess bus transfer to EWR on a Sat. morning is $68 vs. $85 with Dial 7. Has anyone used their transfer service in this port? Did you have to wait on the bus for a long time before it left the port? Flight is just after noon. Thanks for the help. FritzG Posted May 20, 2017 #2 Share Posted May 20, 2017 We used it in the fall of 2105 and 2016. Both times we got off the ship fairly early, and the bus filled up and left quickly. In 2015 it took about 45-50 min. to get to EWR. Last year we had a driver who had no clue where he was going. He missed the lane for departing flights, and then he got back on the highway. It looked like he was heading back to Brooklyn. Passengers started yelling at him, and he turned around and tried again--and missed again even though everyone was yelling for him to turn. On the third try he managed to get us to departing flights. Some people had early flights, and I think they may have missed them. Needless to say, we didn't see anyone tipping him. Rare Got2Cruise Posted May 20, 2017 #3 Share Posted May 20, 2017 Aren't those transfer busses a pain when it comes to unloading the luggage? Plus dropping off at various terminals. If cost is a factor maybe you can find someone on your rollcall to share a Dial 7 Sent from my iPhone using Forums
DrivesLikeMario Posted May 20, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted May 20, 2017 Thanks to both of you for your help. We decided to go with Dial 7 again after all. The fear of the bus moving too slowly and stopping at a lot of other terminals first and the info. you two provided helped us make up our minds to spend a little more and go with the private transportation. Thanks for the help. :)
Love the beach Posted May 25, 2017 #5 Share Posted May 25, 2017 The Princess transfer is usually per person whereas the Dial 7 is per car so if there are 2 of you it makes more sense. I'm assuming the $68 was for one....
LeeW Posted August 26, 2017 #6 Share Posted August 26, 2017 Ours took about an hour, but he did a quick drive around south Manhattan and the towers site. Ours was first terminal at EWR but they were loading several buses and they were trying to get people to same terminal on the same bus.
