Celebrity Beverage Package

Just heard that if you have the Celebrity Classic beverage package, an order for a premium vodka will result in having to pay the difference between the Classic charge $9 and the $13 premium charge, and not the full $13 charge. If so, it may not pay to upgrade to the Premium package. Can anyone confirm this info.

As Willman noted, with the Classic the surcharge for ordering a drink over $9 is unrelated to the premium package - a $10 drink will have a surcharge of $1.18 while a $15 drink will have a surcharge of $7.08.

Having said that, if you are planning on only drinking drinks that are priced at or above $13, then the $11.80 per day upgrade to the Premium package is cost effective with 4 or more such drinks per day. (Actually, on average the breakeven is 3 1/3 per day.)

Thank you for the helpful replies. We mow have premium package on our upcoming President's Cruise (ireland-Iceland 5-7-170) , but have a classic package for another Celebrity cruise to Canada-New England. Will probably upgrade to premium on that one,

With the new policy of only having to pay the difference in drink costs, I'm not sure paying the $11.80/ day charge is worth it - especially if the preferred liquor is only a couple of dollars more.

For us premium is the way to go as you do not have to think about money at all when ordering most drinks. The addition of the Martini and World class bar + speciality cocktail at other bars make the premium package worth it.
