Flight Home From Seattle

You will actually be docked long before 8:00AM but that is the offical time they give for it. The last time we were on the Pearl, early walk offs started around 7:30 - they will give actual times for all of this beginning Friday and all day Sat.

Yes, being in a suite you will have an escorted walk-off through a special walkway outside the stardust theater. For us it was quick and painless as we had our own line for customs and everything.

Once off the ship, there is a line up of taxis waiting to take you to the airport or wherever. It is only 15 mi to the airport - but it does not take much to clog Seattle's freeways. The trip would be around 20-25min without traffic. With light traffic and no accidents it would be in the 30 min realm, a major tie up and you could be an hour or more. So if the gods are smiling on you an 11:15 flight would be doable. But I don't think I would chance it.

You could also opt for taking your own bags off which would save a few minutes in the terminal and allow you to go directly to the taxi line.

I live in Downtown Seattle. If I had a flight leaving at 11:15 -- I would leave my house ESPECIALLY on an early Sunday Morning (NO TRAFFIC AT ALL) at 9:15.

I went to Alaska 2 weeks ago and we were home by 8:30 and walked off the ship at 8. You'll be fine. Especially with priority in a suite.

Have fun!

IMO and experience, you will be fine. Obviously, the unusual can happen. We had very light traffic on a Sunday. I have read some horror stories regarding SeaTac. A few weeks ago, I was there on a Sunday morning. No wait at TSA, no wait at SWA curbside check-in.....I felt fortunate.

Even with usual Sunday airport related waits, I think you will be fine. Since you have escorted services, it's likely you'll have plenty of time to spare :-)

I wish the CBP at the ports would start using this app: http://mobilepassport.us/

It's free and works in several airports to get you through customs quickly.

We've been on a dozen cruises in the past 2 years. Mostly US ports. And have never spent more than a minute to pass through Customs (sometimes a queue to get in, but a mobilepassport would not help that). The mobilepassport would take a lot longer than that. (We are also trusted travelers and use the kiosks when flying internationally).

Thanks all, we are also booked first class, so I think that gets priority too. Ii think I should be fine

One other point to keep in mind, The Pearl will NOT be the only cruise ship disembarking passengers. There will probably be at least three others, which will make SeaTac for awhile Sunday morning very congested.

Last year, as suite guests we were off the ship in plenty of time to make it to the airport on time. Sadly I was so worried about this that we took a much later flight, since there were only 3 to choose from and it meant we had to sit around for 12 hours before boarding.

If things go as they usually do, you will be fine with your flight.

It sounds like you are not a frequent flyer. Be aware that in nearly all airlines/airports there is a priority line for first class travelers. Do not find yourself in the normal line or allow a contractor who directs traffic in the airport (red jacket people) to put you in the with "normal" people. You will also have a priority line for security.

Do you know if Jet Blue "Mint" class is included in that priority security line? It's Jet Blue's version of first class/business class, but it isn't called that.

Sorry, not a jet blue guy and I don't really travel in/out of jet blue airports. I imagine they do, but can't guarantee.

According to this yes.

You get their "Even More Speed" which should put you ahead of the normal security line. Be sure to look for the signs.

You will easily make an 11:15 am flight. We have cruised suites on all our Alaska trips, and we always book flights at 11 or later. We have time for a nice breakfast, then get the escort to the gangway (note that the escort has nothing to do with the process of Customs and Immigration down on the pier), and we have always pre-arranged car service to the airport. We're usually at the airport by 9 or 9:30, plenty of time.

Do be aware that SEATAC has a terrible reputation for long, slow security lines. If you can get TSA Pre-Check this will help. Otherwise, allow some extra time for that process.

We are "risking" a 11:50am flight when we debark the Pearl. I am not overly concerned if we don't make it, but don't think we will have a problem. I'm hoping not anyway. If we do, well, we'll figure out something. LOL We are not flying directly home. We are making a 2 day stop somewhere else first. As long as our flight TO Seattle goes off without any problems, and I don't miss my ship, I'll be find. LOL I'll worry about getting home when it's over. :D

You'll easily make that flight. Excellent choice of time.

We are not in a suite, but we are going to walk off with our own luggage. We were going to sign up for TSA Pre-check, but so far we have not. Frankly, I just don't have the money right now. We may still do it though. One of us can get it for free using SW points. I already have transportation arranged back to Sea-Tac. They say they will have me there in time. I hope it goes well, but not going to stress out if not. LOL
