What time is late dining on the Koningsdam?

Just curious. We have early dining booked on a July cruise. Heard early means 5:30pm, however. Maybe we want to change. Let us know late dining time. Thanks

Typically 8pm, occasionally 7:45 or 8:15 is standard across the HAL fleet.

Late/Main dining is at 8:00 PM on most itineraries. Once in a while it is at 7:45 on an Alaska itinerary, but my last two times in Alaska it was also at 8:00 PM.

I haven't seen an 8:15 dining time in many years.

Was 8:00 on the Premier voyage.

HAL's current 'KnowBeforeYou Go' brochure says -

"Classic Pre-Set Dining: The traditional pre-set dining times are 5:45pm and 8:00pm in the main Dining Room."

First time I had 7:45 which was good. Second was 8:15 and that extra 30 minutes made a big difference. It was just too late.

It was 8:15 on our two recent voyages on the Koningsdam, but we had any time dining and rarely had to wait and never more than 30 minutes. If we did have to wait, we would take our pager to the Queen's Lounge where they served complementary champagne for anyone waiting for dinner with a pager.

It was 8:15 p.m. this past January.

We had the 5:30 time on the Koningsdam last summer. This time was good in that we were always done with dinner in time to get to the evening shows, most of which started at 7.

We have early for our upcoming September cruise on Oosterdam. I guess from reading this thread, it'll be sometime between 5:30 and 5:45pm which is fine. ;) :)

Do realize that this thread is a year old, and SOP can change.

Good point Ruth.. Thanks. I guess now we're talking somewhere between 5:15-5:45, but likely closer to 5:45 because that is what I'm reading in current HAL FAQ information.

As I mentioned earlier, we'll be okay either way.. we're only talking a 30 min swing max. :)
