  1. How wonderful that it actually arrived and you were able to enjoy. How is DH’s cooking going? Are you able to go out to the supermarket/stores and are there many products available to you? Do you and your neighbours help each other with sharing food/ingredients?
  2. I recall this company was discussed here last Christmas. Dad delighted to receive his fruit cake this week - an annual Christmas gift organised by his sister in the UK.
  3. Hi. You’ve booked a couple of nice back to back cruises on the Brilliance. For the Australian ports you are struggling with, can I suggest that you post a request for assistance in the Australia and New Zealand Cruisers Forum here on cc. The regulars there have done the round Australia cruise multiple times and will be able to give you lots of information and ideas for the ports you are trying to organise Atm, they are answering a similar question for NZ and ports south of Sydney plus Melbourne and Tasmania. But I am guessing you need suggestions for Gladstone, Darwin, & WA ports + Lombok. I am confident they will give you some good ideas. If you have any questions re Sydney I am happy to help. And yes, you will love our marsupials. You may already be aware that you can only hold a koala in Queensland. Not permitted in NSW but there are plenty of healthy koalas to view up close at all our Sydney zoos & wildlife parks.
  4. It was a nice sail in this morning Quick & easy self disembark. Already back at work. Ready to plan the next cruise to Eden…
  5. Good morning. Sail into Sydney Harbour this morning. Been a lovely short cruise. Heading back to work now. Melbourne Cup today - the horse race that stops the nation- or so they say. We have our annual Ladies Luncheon on 🏇🏆
  6. Just on a short 3 night cruise to Eden. Left Sydney on Saturday afternoon back to Sydney and work tomorrow morning - straight from the ship. Sorry I know this is a RCL group but the exchange rate is awful atm so Australian cruises that are in AUD are my cruises of choice. On board Majestic Princess.
  7. Good morning. It’s a beautiful day on the Sapphire Coast of NSW. Today, we did a guided bushwalk. 8 of us from Sydney and 1 young crew member. We were walking single file through the bush, myself second from the end and the crew member at the rear. We suddenly stopped. A Kangaroo and her Joey were in the bush ahead. The crew member whispered to me “this is my first time seeing a kangaroo” I said, go up to the front. Big smile from all of us as he quietly moved up to join our guide at the front to have a closer look. Joey then decided that mum’s pouch was safest place to be but couldn’t work out how to get in… Tonnes of kangaroo poo everywhere. Asked our guide how many kangaroos are in this location. A mob of approx 100. He said when taking another group of cruisers on the walk, he was disappointed for them that he didn’t see any where we had but when they reached the rocky beach above, there were 40 on the beach. Morning tea break. Put on by our guide and his partner. A young couple who have been running the company for four years through Covid lockdowns & bushfires. Lots of whales putting on a show today as we walked to the lookouts. No photos of the whales but the views were lovely. Monitor Lizard next to the trail Accidentally took a photo of my shadow. Need to lay off the desserts… Back to the ship for a late lunch on the balcony. This cruise life is hard to take especially on beautiful days like these.
  8. Absolutely stunning day in Eden today. View from upper deck of water shuttle returning to ship.
  9. @Sea Dog Pleased to hear your OP went well and you are already up and walking. Thanks for the updates. @Jimbo Your trees are all so beautifully decorated. Your definitely have a skill & love your collection of ornaments. That final tree is a unique theme.
  10. The prices for Cunard cruises here in Australia have been quite reasonable I feel but it’s just not a cruise line that I have an interest in booking.
  11. No not yet. We aren’t fans of Qantas tbh, even being non stop to London. Yes, ski season work & accommodation secured. DS, DD and my nephew will all be working at three different ski resorts in BC this winter. Definitely a popular thing to do in your 20s.
  12. $99pp includes dinner, drinks, a show and then dancing at their late night nightclub and obviously you get to check out the ship. You have to book a specific dining venue and most but not all on the Sydney date are now booked out. Dress code is a splash of red. Thanks for posting @Zanny. Did you decide to book?
  13. Lucky you don’t have to fly Sydney to London….,😀 Daughter is happy right now - she is about to depart Honolulu for Vancouver and has a whole row to herself.
  14. Thanks @arxcards for the link. Just booked for Sydney ✅
  15. Yes definitely. Aiming for May/June. If I was flying into Vancouver it would be 15hrs flight. Might be flying into Calgary though and haven’t looked into flight times for that yet. I enjoy flying & don’t mind long flights.
  16. Yesterday I drove my daughter to the airport. She decided her brother can’t have all the fun, so she is off to Canada. To save on airfare, she bought a one way ticket to Honolulu and then a one way ticket Honolulu to Vancouver. At the check-in counter, she was told that she cannot fly to the US without a return ticket, even though she was departing Honolulu to Vancouver on the same day and has a 2 year visa for Canada. So she had to buy a return ticket from the US but the check in lady whispered “ you can cancel it within 24hrs for a full refund”. Because she had this hassle and because DD was very nice and friendly about it, the lovely check-in lady waived her excess baggage fees (she was over by a couple of kilos).
