  1. The private school boys of the North Shore in Sydney tip their straw hats to drivers as they cross the pedestrian crossing.
  2. Thank you for coming back and posting your review. Full production shows, adults only areas and no buffet for dinner were interesting to read about. Pleased you had such an enjoyable time with your family.
  3. Had to share this quote from a fiction book that I was reading earlier this month on the Majestic Princess ”Sweetheart, I like to take holidays on cruise ships. Wait til you’ve been around four hundred people with gastro who are still trying to get free drinks, then talk to me about ridiculous”
  4. I know you have already booked it but just an fyi, if you go there on boarding night you get a free bottle of house wine or a discount off other drinks. Like you, I used my OBC and getting a free bottle of wine with dinner as well was a nice bonus.
  5. I cruised on the Splendour to the South Pacific after Luminosa and seeing how popular the water slides were with the kids, I can understand that frequent Carnival family cruisers would miss them. But for us, Luminosa was ideal and if both cruised from Sydney, we would pick Luminosa over Splendor.
  6. Even with a balcony, we spent a lot of time in the adults only Serenity deck. The food in the MDR was always very nice & the service quick. We didn’t go with traditional seating but we found it very easy to book a table at various times that suited us via the Carnival App. Fahrenheit 55 is their specialty dining venue and the service there was superb. Enjoy your cruise. It’s nice to try different cruise lines.
  7. @taznremmy not the way to spend the last days of your cruise. All the best with your recovery. @lenquixote66 all the best for your grand-dog’s op. Hoping for a good outcome from the surgery.
  8. Luminosa is deemed inferior to Splendor by some families because it doesn’t have water slides. Given the majority of cruises are to the South Pacific and Moreton Bay - I can understand those families frustration. However, it has a much nicer decor, better ship layout and just as friendly crew and entertainment staff. Our side by side balconies were great. Have another cruise on Luminosa booked. Carnival are fun ships and that’s what they offer.
  9. Another random question - dancing fountains? Did we have them on our short cruise and if so. - what time would they have been on? Watched a couple of after dinner movies and never noticed anything special happening in the main pool…
  10. @dani negreanu DH’s dish looks delicious. Thank you for sharing with us a little of your current life and my condolences for the loss of Antony, his wife and friends. Horrific. Stay safe.
  11. The price for the half day bushwalk that I posted photos of just recently on Princess was $299pp. Thankfully the cruise came with promo OBC so that offset most of the cost. Amedee Island in Noumea and snorkelling day excursion on the Great Barrier Reef are around $250pp or more . Can understand your disbelief that cruisers are paying such inflated prices but they are standard prices for many day excursions here. No doubt when RCL finally open the resort in the South Pacific, the price will be high.
  12. 3 weeks til summer officially starts and it’s been beautiful beach weather this weekend. Did my usual beach/coastal walk while DH rode his mountain bike
  13. Hi. Have a family member who will be cruising with friends on the Majestic Princess on 20 November from Sydney. They want to watch the MotoGP. Is there Foxtel in the room cabin or somewhere on the ship where they can watch the MotoGP? Thanks.
  14. Sun umbrellas are definitely permitted and encouraged at all Sydney beaches. Long sleeve rashies (rash shirt for sun protection) worn at the beach and in the water are popular here as are hats & sunscreen applied every 2hrs.
  15. The QR code just appeared in the App a week before embarking . No health requirements to complete - for a domestic cruise at least.
  16. More progress there then in Vanuatu.RCL announced pre-Covid that they were going to be building “A perfect day in Lelepa”.in the South Pacific. Reports from those who have been there recently is that the only the build so far is pre-build metal fencing on the site.
  17. Ok. Noted. The sensor light In wardrobe “room” next to the bathroom is the one that keeps me awake - I am used to going to the bathroom in the middle of the night in darkness, so I can fall straight back to sleep but that sensor light is so bright - I end up being wide wake. I guess that one is needed for access to the life jackets?
  18. Photo on the last morning of the cruise finally standing in the middle of one of those glass panels - note the buckles that set off the alarms when boarding the ship 🙄 and it was when I was looking down that I realised self disembarking had commenced 😁 as I could see cruisers walking off with their luggage
  19. @Lionesss Miss Zoey is absolutely adorable. Spending time with your beautiful granddaughter must take away the pain of your house issue that occurred due to no fault of your own & made me flinch reading about the newly laid lawn being dug up…
  20. You certainly are both having a rough time. Good to hear you are improving and I hope Lisa gets her surgery scheduled. Hoping on Christmas Day you will both be celebrating having your full health back.
  21. Where can I leave a review of the Princess Shore tour that I did in Eden? - Light to Light Walk. I have filled out the post survey review that was emailed out & the tour company is not listed on the Princess blurb so no use putting a review on Trip Advisor. I would like to leave a review for future Princess cruisers who are considering booking this tour. thanks
