  1. @Ozark_Kid Kenzie is an adorable angelic chipmunk and adorable “snowmen” too. Such nice photos of all you and your lovely family.
  2. We had another lightning storm come through late last night. Expecting another sweltering 40C day today then a storm will come through tonight to cool things down. Beautiful sunset @helen haywood Delicious meal @grapau27 Have a wonderful cruise @h20skibum
  3. Any Australians on the 9-month Royal Carribbean world cruise that just left Miami and are blogging about it?
  4. Was trying to reply to your request in a roundabout way because of cc rules but it appears that the rules don’t apply to World Cruise links. Should have just replied directly with the info like you and others have done.
  5. After the bumpy ride for some, you have been rewarded with a beautiful morning in The Sounds. Enjoy. I really need to do this cruise. (Have been to The Sounds on a small boat day trip many years ago)
  6. Cruising around the world in 274 days - sounds wonderful don’t you think? Couldn’t do it myself would get a heavy cold in each sector and probably get the cruise cough for it’s entirety but thankful that there are cruisers on board that are sharing their journey for @Arzeena and I and many others to enjoy.
  7. I booked my cruise direct and paid in full at the same time. Instead of a confirmation email, I got “this is your last payment warning email” I tried to call them all day the next day and was unable to get through. Finally got through the next night and they couldn’t locate my booking at first. After 30 mins, they finally located my booking and sent though a confirmation email that confirmed all my details and I had in fact paid in full. Next day, I couldn’t log into the app or via the website. Like you, my one and only email was rejected. I could change my password using my email but the email itself was being rejected when I tried to log in. Called them again that night, went through the same debacle of them not finding my booking - using my booking number/name and DOB - they then told me I was booked to go to the Carribbean when I’m cruising in Australia 😳. I said I would like to speak to a Manager. I was put on hold and Finally, they said “I can see the notes taken by my colleague last night. I can see the issue and it will be fixed. Just delete the app and don’t log in again for 24hrs” And yes, 24hrs later, I installed the app & everything was as it should be. My advice is keep persevering with the phone calls. Also, for a February cruise, we can’t book restaurants, shore tours etc until 1st January so assuming it’s the same in the US, you are not missing out yet.
  8. Captain announced seas over 5 metres and they may not make The Sounds tomorrow.
  9. I think we are READING the same one. The couple travelled around the US in a RV for 3 years prior to this world cruise and have packing and living in a small space down to an art form. Their use of magnetic items on the cabins walls is particularly impressive. The ticket off the countries wall poster that RC supplied is cute.
  10. When you cruise to the Far North Queensland, to snorkel the Great Barrier Reef, one of the ports listed is Willis Island. It’s a remote weather station about 50km off Cairns. You don’t stop there but you slowly Cruise past & a crew member will chat with one of the four scientists who permanently live on the island. Yesterday, those four scientists were evacuated by helicopter as Cyclone Jasper is bearing down on the area.
  11. Friends of ours were planning to head to their holiday home on the Central Coast last weekend. The night before, that wild storm came through and they lost their entire veranda & roofing. Thankfully their holiday home was vacant.
  12. I loved the book it is based on. Read it in one go. 241 pages of pure dread whilst making points on race, class, our reliance on modern technology and the destruction of our planet. Sounds like the ending was true to the book.
  13. Never heard of this mansion but familiar with Stetson hats. Love the places we discover via posts on Dani’s thread. Hope you enjoyed the tour.
  14. I’ve only seen a snippet of photos from the gala. The cruisers certainly dressed beautifully (I didn’t see Laura).I see each country they are cruising to was represented as a room decoration. If Australia was featured, would love to know what was used to represent our country?
  15. Sorry Lenny but I strongly disagree. Paying $$$$ to stand in a pen, in freezing weather for 8 hours, needing to use a she-wee, just to see a ball drop and some fireworks - is definitely an experience I can live without. Not on my bucket list, that’s for sure
  16. Hot, humid night here. Did a brief bit of Christmas Lights viewing tonight but had to cut it short due to an approaching storm with lightning. Photos from a few houses:
  17. Yes, Lego has brought many years of enjoyment to my son and my friends’ son. They are both in their 20s and still enjoy Lego so you have many years ahead of Lego building with your grandkids. Thanks for sharing that article. I had no idea of that event & the long lasting repercussions for the sea/beaches around Cornwall.
  18. Been out seeing the Christmas lights in Sydney tonight. We had a storm move through in the late afternoon that dropped the temps by 10C in 10mins but tonight when I got out of the car, it felt like we were going to get another storm. As I was taking a photo of one of the decorated homes, there was a big flash that lit up the sky behind it. Decided to start making the long walk back to the car. Then started to see distant lightning bolts. Definitely picked up the pace then - wanted to get back to my car before the lightning got any closer. Amazing footage on the news tonight of a guy from Mudgee NSW packing gear into his car. He suddenly realises he has left his wallet in the house. A moment after he disappears from the video (dashcam video from a car parked nearby) you see a bolt of lightning hit the tree next to his car (Hyundai Getz) and all the tree limbs crash onto his car. His car is written off. Going to retrieve his walket saved him from serious injury. All caught on dashcam footage from a car parked nearby.
  19. I am so sorry your generosity was followed by a complete falling out. I am glad you still have the lovely Sarah in your lives though. Should your visit to Australia include a visit to Sydney, I would love for us to find a way to connect. Commitments permitting, It would be a pleasure to take you and Pauline out to lunch and show you the beauty of the Northern Beaches for a day.
