  1. Dad has been enjoying the fruits of his garden. A punnet of strawberries a day and first ever paw paws. last weekend, courtesy of dad’s garden I came back home with spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, snow peas and strawberries. Delish.
  2. My friend has a pond in her garden. Last week her neighbour knocked on her door and ever so politely requested that they do something about the frog that was croaking loudly and keeping her awake at night. My friend’s husband was given the job of finding and re locating the male frog. It’s been very peaceful ever since.
  3. Lovely day out on the water and I like your style - up the front of the boat with a glass of champagne in lovely pink jumper.
  4. Thank you for the update and pleased to read that treatment is over and you are heading towards being able to eat a meal. Best wishes for your upcoming 80th birthday cruise.
  5. Can’t like this post. So important that companies like this deliver what you need. I sincerely hope you get this sorted before you depart.
  6. Last day of the long weekend. It was a relief when the cool change blew through last night after a hot Sunday. Today, I took my girlfriend on the Milsons Point to Waverton Walk along the harbour, stopping by Wendy Whiteley’s Secret Garden on the way. It was a lovely day for a walk. I
  7. @LuckynanaDS is 12 months into a 2 year Canadian visa. He is currently on a extended vacation with the group of Canadian friends he made whilst working over summer. Halifax is one of their stops on their holiday.
  8. I am a long way off having grand-kids but all you wonderful grandparents inspire me with the lovely activities you do with you gorgeous grandkids. DS now has a French-Canadian girlfriend. DH is getting way ahead of himself with plans for when she visits Australia and I said to my friend today that I hope the relationship lasts the distance for many reasons, one of which would be giving me an excuse to visit Quebec again….
  9. Good morning. 1st day of daylight savings today. Midday temperature is 95f (35c). This morning before it got too hot, we drove up to the Central Coast and did a bushwalk in the Brisbane Water National Park. We walked from the small waterfront village of Patonga to the beautiful and very popular beachside holiday destination of Pearl Beach and back (4.3km each way). Patonga View from the lookouts looking down at Patonga Distant view of Barrenjoey Headland (Palm Beach) mid point of the walk Once we arrived at Pearl Beach, saw this community piano in front of someone’s home. There was an art show on at Pearl Beach which I wouldn’t have mind exploring but the Rugby League Grand Final is on today which half of Sydney will be watching including DH, so after rest, our packed lunch and ice-blocks we did the return walk back up the top and then back down the stone steps to Patonga.
  10. Thanks and how lovely. I love cruising around Manhattan. We’ve done the sunset cruise but we preferred cruising at night. The city lights are so pretty. We did the cocoa and carols cruise at Christmas - that was fun. One day I would like to do the Architectural cruise that cruises around the whole island.
  11. The overall consensus Is Fahrenheit is worth doing. Certainly the service is top notch. I loved my surf n turf but was disappointed with my entree & dessert. Maybe I made the wrong choices? Tip - book for first night on board and you get a free bottle of House wine or a discount off other alcohol choices. Havent done a mixologist class but from reading a fairly recent post online - $25pp. Max 11 pax. The class is organised by the mixologist and the invites are at his discretion or via ballot. There is an Italian restaurant that offers lunch for one day only during cruises. Apparently it’s worth doing.
  12. First day of a long weekend in Sydney. We are expecting hot, windy conditions tomorrow but tonight was just gorgeous for a sunset dinner cruise on Sydney Harbour. A gift from my daughter.
  13. I cruised solo to PNG and did a private tour in a small group at Alotau . We had a nice air conditioned van and had a lovely visit to a village by the water, the markets (where we were told to stay in the group and not wander off by ourselves) and a lookout. The tour was recommended by an online cruise info group specific to PNG and it was a good recommendation. the ship’s tour on the same day was in a large convoy of older vans with no air conditioning and one of the vans broke down. The other tour they operated was for those interested in the war history of Alotau. this was pre-Covid.
  14. Sounds like your new chair is perfect for your needs which is great to hear. Speedy, compact and eye height for conversations and bonus that you can give your gorgeous grandkids some fun,
