  1. @Sea Dog Glad you are ok now and the pain from the injection site has eased. I love bananas. Take to work for morning tea. Slice them up with strawberries and kiwi fruit for dessert. My dad loves them sliced and served with cold vanilla custard from the fridge for dessert.
  2. My retired friend started going to Aqua Aerobics a few years ago. Everyone in the classes got on so well, they started walking together once a week, then the Aqua teacher suggested a holiday together as a group. They first went to Sri Lanka. It was a success, so the following year they went to Greece. That was a success and this year they are in Croatia. They continue to do Aqua, walks, and now group visits to Art Galleries etc between yearly holidays.
  3. Good luck to England. One of DH’s friends called after we returned from the beach. He had a spare free ticket. So, DH is at the stadium right now.
  4. Nice sunny Sunday in Sydney. We drove up to the Central Coast. DH to ride his new mountain bike on the fire trail. Me, to do the nice little coastal walk combining a bit of bush and boardwalks to a lookout. We met up afterwards to have a casual lunch at the beachside kiosk. As we were leaving DH spotted something in the sea. He said a whale, I said no, it looks like dolphins. He raced off to get his binoculars from the car. You could see them from the beach but the binoculars helped us count. They were a pod of eight. Beautiful to see & watch for a while but impossible to photograph.
  5. @bobmaclibertyWish I had one of these just now, had a pod of 8 dolphins swim by . beautiful to see with our own eyes but would be even better with an aerial view from a little drone like this
  6. This morning, I decided to go to the Cherry Blossom festival at Auburn Botanical Gardens. I have never been to the festival or the gardens before. Auburn is located in the Western suburbs of Sydney. It’s a ticketed event and this weekend was sold out. Once you have wandered the Japanese gardens, there a lovely area with lots of Japanese food & drink stalls. I enjoyed the Cherry Blossom Lamington, sushi, two types of Japanese cheesecake and some nice wine. Would like to have tried some of the other food options but having not been to Japan, I wasn’t sure what to choose.
  7. Speaking of pain meds, last night I watched several episodes of Painkiller - a drama series on Netflix about OxyContin. @Sea Dog hope you start to feel the positive effects of the injection asap.
  8. For some reason I have been having vivid dreams this week. A post here influenced last nights dream. I dreamt that we had a hole in our fence and the pigs from our neighbour’s property wandered over and they were eating their food at the same time as Max was eating his. And no, our neighbour definitely does not have pigs. But I did learn about a hog oiler this week courtesy of Keksie. Hoping tonight I dream of Harry Potter’s owls courtesy of @h20skibum fabulous birthday party photos.
  9. Last month, Jetstar had very cheap flights to Hawaii for late Oct early Nov (didn’t look at mid Oct) $299 one way.
  10. Have the same issue with Max. He sleeps outside on the deck. The only way we can see where he is without the light on, is when he moves his blanky around.
  11. @dani negreanu pleased you are able to visit your son’s family in Amersterdam soon. @TravelGirlinDallas poor Andrew. Hope he finds a way to do most activities even with his cast. @Sea Dog Hope the injection eases your awful knee pain. Love your tiki night garden lights. @Luckynana Hope you had a lovely birthday. @h20skibum Good news that your daughter feels well enough to return to work. Apologies, if I missed anyone’s recent news.
  12. @Keksie your bridal shawl is stunning. I admire your skill. @jagsfan your great grandchildren are gorgeous Honestly, everyone in this group who post photos of their grandchildren has adorable grandchildren. You are all blessed
  13. The girls certainly are great role models and great to finally see women’s sports teams get the media coverage and support they deserve.
  14. This time tomorrow night the Lionesses (England) will be playing the Matildas (Australia) in the semi-final of the FIFA Women’s World Cup. The support that our National Women’s Team has been receiving here is phenomenal. Pretty sure most of Australia will be glued to their screens tomorrow night. Should the Matildas progress through to the final and win the Cup, our State Premier has said we will have a public holiday to celebrate and a ticket-tape parade in Sydney. To our English friends here - may the best team win 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿⚽️🇦🇺
