  1. I want to book but the solo prices are too high. Unless, there are last minute price drops, I will be waiting for future seasons.
  2. The only time I have used cash this year: to tip room the steward on cruises to pay for souvenirs and food in the South Pacific - Mystery Island to donate to Rotary and the other charity that still collects individual cash donations in public places. Always handy to have a small amount of cash on you for the times the eftpos machine that you trying to pay on has a malfunction…. Everything else is paid by card - including a minor purchase I made of $2.50 bottle of water on the weekend. If there is only one or two travellers with maximum of a suitcase each and a carryon, the train is a good option to and from Circular Quay to the airport, especially during busy traffic periods.
  3. He also completed the Coast walk that he started yesterday. I told him he needed to make sure to take photos of the Lighthouse (which I am sure he thought was a weird request from me….).For @Ocean Boy Tacking Point Lighthouse. Built in 1879, it’s Australia’s 13th oldest lighthouse and the finish point of the coastal walk and a great spot to see whales which DH did.
  4. DH had another day in Port Macquarie (4 and a bit hours north of Sydney on the coast). He visited: IMG_3411.MOV Important vehicle with cute staging for the kiddos.
  5. DD and all her friends have an online group where they post daily photos of their pets. Yesterday one of her friends posted a video of his new “pet” wandering his backyard. As you would have seen from my aerial photos, we have Backburning going on in Sydney. As a result, a very healthy young koala sought safety in her friend’s backyard. Of course, her friend called WIRES (our wildlife rescue organisation) they removed the koala and confirmed he will not need care but will be released in a safe healthy bush habitat ❤️
  6. @Coralc My sincere condolences on the passing of your much loved, handsome Bobby. Being your fur-child and the last of your Mom’s cats will be especially devastating for you.
  7. Hot Saturday in Sydney 35c/95f. Went to a community day in North Sydney. The Harbour Trust were doing free guided tours of the former torpedo factory. The three level site is where torpedos were built in WWII. Interesting history tour and a beautiful restored site next to the harbour. Meanwhile, DH was in Port Macquarie doing the 9km coastal walk.
  8. @bobmacliberty My DD has been, such a stunning part of the world. Great last minute decision by your daughter to paraglide. Lovely photos of the happy couple.
  9. Flight from Sunshine Coast airport (in Queensland) to Sydney airport is only 1 1/2hrs. View after taking off from Sunshine Coast airport. This photo isn’t as clear but we flew over Sydney Harbour (Sydney Harbour Bridge & Opera House in top right of the photo) Then we flew over Bondi Beach and the beaches of the Eastern suburbs before landing at Sydney Airport. Returned home to a forecast of hot weather for the next 5 days.
  10. Final dinner of our lovely holiday. Beautiful sunset. I ordered a delicious macadamia crumbed Barramundi and DH ordered a beach burger. Our meals were served and I could see DH really wished he had ordered the Barramundi, so being the good wife I am, we swapped. Thankfully the burger was tasty.
  11. Speaking of Tommy Bahamas - I was surprised to see a store here in Noosa. When I walked past it, I went ah - a dani forum favourite! Turns out there are lots of Tommy Bahamas stores in Australia. I never knew. @Sea Dog sorry you got caught in a scam but glad it was only a small amount.
  12. This is a land based holiday, so the closest I came to a cruise was the lovely old Noosa ferry that departs from a wharf just up from our apartment outside The Sebel. Our apartment (we have the 2nd floor sub- penthouse apartment ). View from balcony. Me, relaxing on the balcony watching the ferry I took yesterday cruise by (excuse the dirty socks was just back from long bushwalk in NP). Ferry was cute, nice to sit upstairs in the sunshine and the Captain gave an interesting commentary as we cruised upriver. The Captain of the ferry told us yesterday that the waterfront home (one of the white ones in the photo above) that is located diagonally across the water from us was rented by a couple from Victoria last November as an executive holiday rental. The couple on holidays loved it so much, they decided they wanted to buy it. It was not on the market and the lawyer owner was not keen to sell but this couple were determined. They got their rental agent involved and after much persuasion, the owners agreed to sell. So the couple got their new holiday home for 27 million AUD….. this smashed the price benchmark. Previous highest sale in the area was $20million in 2020.
