  1. Looks like a fun day in Greenland! Did you retrace your steps to get back to town or is it a loop? We have been to Reykjavik and Akureyri before but on this cruise, we are thinking about going to Viday Island from Reykjavik and on hiking trails in Akureyri.
  2. We are booked for Reykjavik to Boston for 2024. We are interested in this climb to the top. Is it an actual road, path, or does it require a lot of rock climbing? We want to pack light, and I only plan on wearing/bringing two pairs of lightweight jogging shoes that I will use as walking shoes. Dh thinks we would need to bring heavy hiking boots.
  3. I felt the Inhale room was beneficial on Apex only, but not on Beyond, which did nothing that I could detect.
  4. That is my thought too. They didn't know what they were doing on Beyond or just didn't add the salt. My Apex experience was like your local salt suite. The Inhale room on the Apex had traces of salt on the floor and benches, and I would taste salt if I licked my lips. I also felt it helped my lungs. When my husband said he was going to question them on Beyond, I told him they will just say we are out of the salt or that is the way it is supposed to work. He asked, and they said that is the way it is supposed to work.
  5. I really can't say what the crystal does, but there are many people who believe in the power of crystals and the ability to heal. There was a light scent, and it was warmer in there than the Inhale room. I used it to cool down from the sauna or steam rooms.
  6. Yes, but does it function consistently on all three? Or do some work, and some do not?
  7. I didn't feel that the Inhale room on Apex was a gimmick, and I felt it was beneficial. The room on Beyond though . . . . a gimmick or just doesn't work.
  8. I am not going to waste my time with Celebrity management just to get a non-answer like I got from spa management on the ship. I am looking for guest experiences at this point.
  9. We just returned from Beyond on Sunday where we had Aqua Class and access to the Sea Thermal Suites (spa). We had been on the Apex in the past, and the Inhale Room operated differently on Apex. On Apex, it was a little warmer and the unit ejected traces of salt into the room. We could see traces of salt on the benches and floor and could smell/taste it in the air. We felt it was very beneficial for keeping clear, relaxed lungs. The Beyond Inhale Room did not seem to do anything. It was slightly warm but no ejecting of salt and no traces or tastes/smells of the salt and sitting in the room did not seem to produce any benefits. We reported this to the receptionists and later to management, but basically, they just said that is the way it is. Does anyone have experiences with the Inhale Room on the Edge-class ships, and if so, what was your experience? Could you tell it was beneficial or sense the salt in the air?
  10. Thank you for the reminder. Our friends just upgraded pre-cruise to Premium Drink Package and their Express Pass says CALL because they had already printed out. Our Express Pass says CALL even though we are Zenith when it should say PALL. We both called Celebrity to get it straightened out. Supposedly the Express passes should update soon if we want to re-print, but Concierge said we do not need to re-print ours.
  11. Our friends (bff and her husband) and the two of us are cruising together next month. We are Zenith so we get the Premium drink package included as one of our benefits. Our friends are Select and booked with the gratuities, Classic Drink Package, and Wifi perk. They definitely prefer the Premium package as they appreciate the better wine and beer, occasional more expensive martini/cocktail/coffee w/ alcohol, and the Aqua Spa Cafe smoothies. Today, pre-cruise through Captain's Club, they upgraded to Premium for our 7-night cruise. For being Select (level below Elite), they get a 10% discount to upgrade. For the 7-night cruise with Select Captain's Club status, here is what she said. "Upgraded to Premium. Cost $126 per person plus 20% gratuity. It includes the 10% Select discount. Total just under $300." Elite/Elite+ will get a little better price to upgrade because of the 15% discount.
  12. Good advice. For some reason, I think the travel agent told my husband their obc was non-refundable or the agent didn't know. He's the one who told me to ask these questions, so I think he was told non-refundable.
  13. How available are shore excursions for booking once onboard? Caribbean and Europe (in our case Greece). We are hoping to use our travel agent shipboard credit to book some of them once on board and are wondering if there is usually availability if booked early enough in the cruise. We don't want to get closed out on certain ones which we would book pre-cruise. Once onboard can we book via the tv screen? Or must we go to the Shore Excursion desk?
  14. I can report back next month after our b2b Celebrity Beyond cruises. We are Zenith (as is Phil) so we have been on Celebrity often, the last time being in January 2022 (usually more often but less since pandemic). With your being a frequent Celebrity cruiser as Elite+, you know how to adjust and readjust your experience as needed. As an example, going to Cafe al Bacio during a show time when there are less people there or going to dinner during the non-peak hours.
  15. I understand completely. Yanking the Retreat Lounge from the Zenith members was an upsetting decision. We were very disappointed as we most often do Aqua Class and enjoyed Retreat/Michael's Club. Our other concern is about the number of guests on the ship and reduced staff - long waits, queues, inadequate seating, etc. We have a b2b on the X Beyond next month, so we will see how that goes. We have only had 3 cruises, all Celebrity, since the pandemic and they were all wonderful, but they were only around 40-60% full and with the full crew. Thank you for the information on the cabin. We have 6089 booked on Onward for the holiday sailing next year, to be in our preferred aft, quieter location. We really like the "intensive" European cruises such as Intensive Ireland and also Intensive Spain, so might be booking one of those for 2024. In fact, we were booked with Azamara for the Spain Intensive cruise in 2020, but the pandemic forced the cancelation.
  16. I hope my questions are applicable for this topic. We certainly are Azamara newbies. We have been on Azamara one time but are Discoverer Platinum in the Azamara Loyalty program because of our being Zenith on Celebrity. We recently booked an Azamara cruise with the Early Booking Bonus promotion of 20% discount, $300 obc, upgrade to Premium Beverage Package, and Unlimited Wifi for one device. As Discoverer Platinum, it looks like we will already get free Unlimited Wifi for each of us according to the benefits list (150 minutes or 100% towards Unlimited Wifi package). The upgrade to the Premium Beverage package does not include any additional wine options like the Ultimate package does. The Premium Beverage package is still of use to us because we like some of the beers on the list at lunch or after a day in port. We like wine for happy hour and with dinner. If we find we want to switch to the Ultimate package for more wine options, would it cost us the $23.95pp per day (minus 25% Platinum loyalty discount) or just $7.00pp per day difference (minus 25% Platinum loyalty discount?) because we are getting the $16.95 Premium package as a promo?
  17. Good to hear from you. Are you still sailing with Celebrity too? Do you prefer Azamara? This is good to hear about lack of noise. Some noise during the day for a brunch is fine. Do you think the cutout would impact the size of the balcony? As long as the balcony is still the same size, that is okay (or a little bigger would be good!). Might work to our advantage because one of us could sit sheltered from the sun to read better on iPad or Kindle on the balcony.
  18. True. lol. Hence more laps on the track required! And more walking in ports.
  19. We sure were very lucky to see Delphi. We were literally the first two people off the Quest and to arrive at Delphi as it was opening. What a memorable day that was!
  20. That could be the same one! Definitely on the Quest. It started in Venice and went to Slovenia, Malta, Delphi, Corfu, Sorrento, and I think Montenegro and probably ended in Rome.
  21. Yes. we sailed in September 2010 with Azamara and loved that Mediterranean cruise. We were Discover Plus at the time. Azamara's website shows us as Discover Platinum now and ever since we made Zenith on X. I recognize your name too.
  22. Good! Prefer shower. We like the quiet, out-of-the way location of aft cabins. Shouldn't be too noisy hopefully over dining room.
  23. We are considering a cruise on the Azamara Onward in an aft deck 6 cabin such as 6089 (last V3 aft veranda cabin) as we usually prefer aft when sailing with Celebrity. It would be above the dining room on deck 5. Any feedback on aft deck 6 cabins? Do the V3 cabins have a tub or shower? I know there could be some vibration and motion as we have stayed in aft cabins often on Celebrity. We don't mind long walks to elevators. We have only been on Azamara one time but are Discover Platinum because of Celebrity Zenith FWIW.
