  1. The coffee on P&O is far too bitter for my taste, so I always add hot water as well as milk when I collect it from the machine. I wonder if the trolley staff will have hot water jugs to dilute it to my taste. However the Celebtity coffee, Lavazza if I remember correctly, tastes far better than P&O rubbish, I wonder if Princess wil be any better?
  2. They do, but as a perfectly capable able bodied passenger I would not want to be taking up their services when less fit passengers need them more. Furthermore the plates and dishes can often be too hot to handle, so will we need to take our own oven gloves??? I assume Princess still use plastic plates.
  3. One of the reasons P&O appealed to us over Princess was that they used trays, just like Celebrity did. I honestly doubt it will reduce food wastage, those passengers who pile it high are not going to change their habits. But on recent cruises we have rarely seen piles of food left in the buffet, and for wheelchair users like us, trays enable me to collect breakfast for both of us at the same time, without trays I am going to have to make 2 trips increasing the queuing time.
  4. and it doesn't have any annoying crane tracks to cross where you can wait for ages for the lights to change.
  5. There never have been, they have these giant sized plates that the Americans then fill with just about everything in the buffet.
  6. They are going to need a hell of a lot more staff if that's the new policy, and the serveries are going to become very congested.
  7. I bet there's a big queue at the station where you can request a tray!!!
  8. If you are coming in from the Ocean Terminal end, then the best way to Mayflower is most definitely via dock gate 10. Mayflower is much nearer gate 10 than it is to gate 20, so much quicker to use dock gate 10.
  9. I might have to bring a few more kitkats and twix on our next cruise if biscuits are still off the menu, or maybe I will have to smuggle some digestives out of the buffet. Just a pity P&O dont have the delicious array of"cookies" that you get on Royal Caribbean, and they don't mind you taking them back to your cabin.
  10. I think the carer comment refers to the need for assistance in your cabin, which would need to be provided by the passenger and not the cruise line. However there should be a number of waiters in the buffet wearing "Can I help you" tabbards, and I have often seen them approach passengers with rollators or walking sticks, in the past, to offer their help, so it is disappointing if this is no longer available.
  11. Have you asked your steward why there are no biscuits?
  12. No restrictions on type of container, and you can top up your supplies at any port so no need to burden yourself with a heavy load at Southampton.
  13. Agree has to be cream last, otherwise you can make a right mess.
  14. I believe the waiting is outside the terminal building.
  15. I have lost interest in F1 over last season and so far this year. The Red Bull car is so superior that there is just no way the others can match it on the DRS zones. When Mercedes were the top team there was always the possibility they could be beaten, and that's what inspired Verstappen to some scintillating driving. But this season even when Ferrari have managed an overtake, you know it won't last, so it's become very boring at the front.
  16. If you share a credit card, then your account will have the total OBC, and spend on either cruise card will benefit from the OBC.
  17. Coronation sponsored by Tena?
  18. Let's hope your right, knowledge without the intelligence to use it wisely could be disastrous.
  19. Do you pack them for 3 nights on a 2 week Princess cruise?
  20. Both certainly need a fairly significant refurb of the cabins including large flat screen TVs, the lower public decks are not too bad, but the pool and sun decks are in need of quite substantial updating. If this were done then I would happily sail on either of them again, the layout is not perfect but I do like the fact that both have 2 reasonably sized lounges in addition to the theatre, and not a bad sized prom deck which offers good shade on very sunny days, and is great for people watching.
  21. Also since brochure launch already has reduced price offers, then that could be why the extra OBC does not apply.
  22. I have no idea whether you are right or wrong, but I do know that my TA warned me that we must obey the Princess T&Cs on the 6 month rule. So faced with that warning it would be fool hardy to rely on the sympathy of the cruise line rather than ensure you renew your passport early.
  23. As I commented earlier Princess T&Cs require 6 monnths validity as explained to me yesterday by my TA, and since both they and P&O are part of Carnival I would expect them both to have the same passport rules.
  24. If you refer to the passport rule, then most certainly the Princess cruises T&Cs require 6 months validity when your cruise starts, so I imagine that P&O will be the same.
  25. It certainly seems so this year, but that might be due to the cost of living crisis reducing demand. Over the last 5 or 6 years pre covid, then early booking was certainly the best option.
