  1. Wow, you really lucked out getting a WS! Congrats. We had a WS on the Grand for our Alaska voyage too, and did not miss the balcony either. The Grand is a sentimental favorite too. Glad you had such a grand time!
  2. Sofa is a really nice addition if there’s 2 or more people in the cabin. Just a welcome bit of personal space that’s not a bed.
  3. I’m now booked on an eligible sailing (with a Plus package) as a solo in a suite. My Future Cruise listing lists only the 3 credits that I would receive under ordinary circumstances rather than the 6 I’m hoping for. I’ve emailed my CVP for confirmation of 6 before I make final payment next month. It’ll be the first contact I’ve had with him, but I hope he can provide an answer.
  4. Here’s a link to The Points Guy article on the promotion. Not exactly official confirmation, but perhaps a step above “I think…” - The Points Guy
  5. It seemed to me on my last cruise that nearly everyone on board had Plus or Premier. Seriously, I would guess 90%.
  6. Isn’t it 1 credit for the cruise +1 credit for solo +1 credit for suite = 3 credits under ordinary circumstances, now x2 for Accelerator Program = 6 credits total?
  7. I want this to be true. I've got a call into my CVP to ask, but had to leave a message. The fine print says "All Captain’s Circle™ and Princess Plus and Princess Premier terms and conditions apply (including that Captain’s Circle tier calculation and doubling only applies to cruise portion of the trip)." Ordinarily, I would take that to mean doubling applies to the on-ship days and not the land portion of a package purchased through Princess. I really am looking for 6 credits out of a solo 3-day Coastal in a Suite. Do you think this means what I think it means?
  8. Hah! Give it a day or two, and check back with an update 🦠
  9. My b2b collapsed into a single voyage with one booking number. On the one hand, that’s good news because they chose the second half where I’m booked in a WS instead of the first half where I’m in an Interior.😃 But then again, if the app thinks my WS doesn’t need to make a MDR dining reservation will it even let me do so for that first week?🤨 l kinda wonder why any of us will bother trying tomorrow. It’s going to be a train wreck, and we all know that going in.
  10. Find yourself a Walgreens on the way…
  11. Yep, that's me dragging a 12-pk of CFDC on board, every time.
  12. I was very impressed with the book selection on the Emerald in April.
  13. Be advised that Princess solo meetups are unhosted. In other words, there is no organized introductions or activities or plans. They simply designate a spot for everyone to come and DIY. I did prefer NCL version, where the cruise director took on a more active roll, set up dinners, reserved seats for us at shows, etc. That level of involvement appropriately became less and less as the days passed. But on Princess, there's nothing more than a suggested place to meet.
  14. Don’t we reach Elite after 15 cruise credits?
  15. Wow, I did not know that. That’s just nutty. I’ve got a WS coming up in December, will certainly provide my steward with the same message.
  16. Great review and photos. I’ve not seen that itinerary before, I’m very intrigued.
  17. I used the one Princess provided on the Emerald once, and thereafter just went with air dry. Took about the same length of time, tho it was a warm climate cruise.
  18. Amazing, you’re very lucky. Upgraded to a full suite at a guarantee price!
  19. Definitely not the fewest solos, that’s more likely on the luxury lines (due to single supplement). Princess does schedule a solo get together, at least on the first day and possibly every day, not sure. It’s advertised in the Daily Patter and in my experience is well-attended. The problem is that it’s unhosted, leaving us to fend for ourselves. But I’ve definitely found traveling companions at those events. You can also try looking for other solos at Trivia and join them to make a team. And if you volunteer to share a table at lunch or dinner, you’ll have ready-made opportunities to meet people who want to meet you!
  20. Wow. Never even occurred to me to check. Fair enough, I can follow rules. (and yes, I eat my apple-a-day in the afternoon, and did not want to seek out a crew member to slice it for me!)
  21. Umm, I have taken a sharp serrated knife on several Princess cruises, like you would use to slice a loaf of bread or cut an apple into pieces. I didn't smuggle anything on purpose -- are knives prohibited?
