  1. It’s likely Quantum of the Seas will cruise from Singapore to Brisbane in November 2024. She is due for dry dock and the work will probably be done in Singapore. There is an entry in Darwin port calendar for Nov 24, 2024. Quantum’s first entry in Brisbane’s port calendar for that season is Dec 1, 2024. Ovation is also due for dry dock in 2024 but I don’t know what theur plan is.
  2. Springaussie mentioned one of the Vision class ships cruised PNG though.
  3. Really? Carnival haven't funded any infrastructure there have they? Are there environmental restrictions on ship calls for some of the islands?
  4. Me too! I've been looking for a winter PNG itinerary for a few years now. Princess run it in the summer - not the best time. I haven't been keen enough to go to P&O. Will Royal ever do it?
  5. I'd have thought winter itineraries would be the same North Qld and South Pac as summer. No NZ, Tasmania or NSW. I reckon they can make it work.
  6. "That’s in the way of another cruise terminal?" ...Yes. Yep, NSW has got a lot of projects under way and they'll all be late and over budget. The Botany container terminal is probably leased long term to Patrick or one of the other stevedores.
  7. Do you reckon Gav is also using BICT as a lever to get the NSW government off their butts?
  8. Finally Gavin has gone public on this subject. I guess it indicates they have firmed up their plans a bit. I'd have thought the winter ship will either be the Brisbane summer season ship at the time (probably still Quantum) or the smaller ship in Sydney (whether that's Radiance class or another). Don't know whether they can fill Quantum initially for the winter season. Brilliance to Brisbane for the southern winter and Anthem goes to Alaska in its place?
  9. Looks like they let a bunch of kids loose with jellybean coloured spray paints.
  10. Seems that the Caribbean already has too much capacity in aggregate (not only from Royal). I'd expect a trickle down of some sort around the time Icon starts sailing from Miami. 3 Q-class in Alaska, presumably replacing one of the Radiance' class? I imagine they'd sell it at good prices. I could hope for a repo via South America. Hope this doesn't re-open the debate about the Bridge of the Americas. You're right about profitability with current level of US dollar. USD should fall back when the downturn takes hold. Until then, it's great for people who are holding plenty of USDs. 😉
  11. Just their hype for the launch event I’d say. Earliest port entry I’ve seen for Icon is St Maarten on 24 Oct 2023 (replaces Harmony). That seems to be their plan.

  13. West coast might be a possibility. Don’t know about suitability for warm weather cruises to Mexico. Navigator dry dock appears to be scheduled during the gap in sailings from mid Feb to mid April 2024. This deployment of Odyssey / Anthem is for early 2025, so it doesn’t work in.
  14. I agree about mainland China. Too much geopolitical tension. I was thinking cruises from Japan and perhaps some from HK.
  15. Sorry, I meant a return to north Asia for Royal generally (as opposed to this particular ship).
  16. That is a good explanation and surely it’s time for a change. Where would Anthem move to? Can’t see it home porting in Florida. A return to north Asia perhaps?
  17. Here, here! It would be great if Royal Caribbean could work that out.
  18. Bit of an update here… https://cruisepassenger.com.au/news/royal-caribbean-reveals-five-stage-plan-for-regions-first-ever-private-resort-for-cruise-passengers/
  19. I would but we’re on Navigator next month. 😀
  20. A common seasonal pattern but I’d have thought Sydney would produce more revenue.
  21. I was thinking revenue from Asia to Hawaii then non revenue to LA. But you have a good point there.
  22. Hmmm…. do-able, at 20 knots with no stops. Non revenue of course.
  23. Lady Musgrave Island is a good day out from Gladstone.
