  1. You'll be able to buy it onboard. Just ask any waiter. If you want to prepay it then just buy some onboard credit instead.
  2. I think you have to upgrade your fare to a Premium fare. I'm not sure what that costs in AU terms but it was very expensive in USD. I can't remember the exact amount, possibly $70. There is a thread on the main Princess forum about it.
  3. Roulade is a term for any thinly cut meat rolled around a filling. Chicken roulade is often seen on MasterChef. I made one once, very nice but very fiddly as it was also wrapped in the chicken skin which was then crisped during the last stage of the cooking process. In Italian it is rotolo. My butcher sells veal rotolo. I think the stuffing has parmesan in it, and tomato paste, plus other stuff. I think, but aren't sure, that the dish known as beef olives is also a type of roulade.
  4. I actually started doing that on the cruise before, which was on Celebrity Solstice. You go a Classic drinks package as a perk but we upgraded to the Premium package. One our sommelier knew that he would only give us the Premium wine list but there were a couple of wines on the other list that we liked so I got ahold of it and took a photo.
  5. No worries. I had to wait until port stops to upload the photos as the free Platinum internet minutes weren't enough to do all that. As you can see the wine list is quite big these days, as is the Crooners drinks list. I also found it really useful having the wine list photos on my phone, especially if we wanted to order more wine part way through a meal.
  6. Always budget on the high side. There might be one night where you want two glasses of wine with dinner instead of one, or a more expensive bottle of wine than normal. Even though we have the Plus package on all the cruises we have booked I always allow for the occasion bottle purchase (at 25% discount) as there are a couple of wines we're quite fond of that aren't available by the glass.
  7. You weren't being disrespectful of your fellow diners, Bubbeh, you were choosing a dining option that suited you in what was, at the time, a system that was too rigid. The only thing you could have done would have been to advise the Maitre'd, at the start of each cruise, that you preferred to dine in the buffet.
  8. Why worry about it now? Wait until January 2024, by then they might have got most of the bugs out if it (I hope).
  9. This thread has most of the drinks lists from 2019. I actually don't expect the prices will change by much. Even if they do the 2019 prices will give you a starting point for your planning. https://boards.cruisecritic.com.au/topic/2694836-princess-cruise-drinks-price-australia/
  10. No-one will be able to get those until the first cruises start here as our drinks menus are in AUD, don't have gratuities added to the listed price, and often differ slightly to the US ones especially the wine lists.
  11. Part of the problem with Traditiinal Dining was that everyone was allocated to a table whether they wanted it or no. Then Anytime Dining was introduced which added to the confusion. With the Medallion they could actually get it correct if they tried but "same table, same time, it isn't working from what I've read. And from what I've seen of the options in the app the wording and how the choices are displayed are wrong.
  12. I'll do that tomorrow but, seriously, we should not have to do that with a certificate. The app should be able to accept pdfs since that is the format you download them in. Grrrr!!!
  13. You might have to wait until after final payment.
  14. It's not the medallion, Les, it's the bloody app! And I'm not chucking my phone in the river just because of that. And we already have hard copies of our vax certs, as recommended during the webinar. I'm actually looking forward to seeing how good (or bad) the medallion is.
  15. I think there was but since there have been upgrades to the app since then I was hoping it was now smart enough to accept pdfs. Wrong!
  16. So this sod of an app finally lets me get into the Health section again, then demands I upload vaccination certificates but won't accept pdfs, which is what downloading the vaccination certificate creates!!!!!!! Grrrrrr!!!! I guess I'll have to take photos of them?
  17. Most of the mocktails are too sweet for me so I just have to have real cocktails like the Lemontini. Oh dear, how sad, never mind. 😁😁😁 That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!!! 🤣
  18. I think Mareblu meant Mary would be there with him in spirit.
  19. It helps them budget for onboard costs so less or no big bill at the end of their cruise. If going on ships with USD onboard costs they can buy the OBC when the exchange rate is more favourable.
  20. I think your pricing is accurate. Buying one internet package will give you unlimited internet for one device so much better than the old minutes. The coffee package can be shared since it's for a set number of coffees not a daily charge, so unless you drink a lot of soft drinks you may not even need the soda package. And the coffee package covers really nice iced teas, in four different flavours, which are wonderful on a hot day after returning from an excursion. If you want bottled water for excursions take reusable bottles with you, and if you don't like the taste of the ships water (like me) take a filter jug onboard with you. I did detailed tracking of our costs on the 35 night Hawaii/Tahiti cruise we did in 2019 so I knew immediately the Plus fare was the way to go for us, but it's very clear it wouldn't be for you.
  21. They don't have to rush to open up. Ships won't go there much before October.
  22. Yes, quite a significant difference. I can't remember exactly how much. The paper ones depended on how many "cards" you bought - we just had the cheapest. The tablet must have had quite a few more "cards" on it as I remember it was significantly more expensive. Too expensive for us.
  23. We don't normally play it either but had a couple of goes on the Hawaii/Tahiti cruise.of afternoons when the weather was a bit iffy. The first time was fun as it was all new to us but after the second time we decided it was too boring.
