  1. Pacific Rim is our favorite to share with good friends 😉 Your crab tempura was the first time I’ve ever enjoyed a soft shell crab!
  2. We also loved the two wine pairing dinners we did! I’m thinking/hoping that posting on the roll call is a good idea. Just did that minutes ago for our Vista cruise next year so will see if that works. Your name seems familiar to me, probably from my live thread on Riviera a couple years ago. Could you be the poster who knew so much about the cheese wheel? Also saw your name on one of the roll calls I joined this morning. We are hoping to put together a group for the wine pairing dinner (Odyssey preferable to Dom).
  3. All the specialties are great and we love Sette Mari too, especially with an outdoor table. Our favorite is Pacific Rim and with so much variety offered, we never get tired of it.
  4. Great pictures and commentary!! We are hoping to finally explore London sometime next year so many thanks for all your great info. Love the Splendor, cheers!!
  5. Thanks so much, this is helpful. I’m almost sure that we booked both TK and shorex almost a year out for our first SB cruise. Even that early, some key TK dates and shorex were picked over and unavailable. It may have been eleven months out but it was definitely not 9 months out as our first booking for this second SB cruise that doesn’t have either reservation available yet. We’ve since switched to a different second cruise and that one is also unavailable for booking TK or shorex. The policy of a standardized booking date is preferable to this.
  6. Thanks, Lori! From what I’m reading, you may have been among the last to get to Dublin. That’s a port that I would have liked to visit.
  7. Thank you!! Took me a minute to find it 😁 with the language barrier! Both menus look fabulous and hope to try them both next year.
  8. Hi Lori, we are looking at BI possibilities and look forward to benefiting from your research and experience. What other ports did you stop at? Thanks!
  9. Rarely, if ever, when I sign up at my assigned time. In the event that your first choice is unavailable, definitely take advantage of the waitlist option because it frequently clears. Good luck!
  10. Great pictures and commentary!! We are hoping to finally explore London sometime next year so many thanks for all your great info. Love the Splendor, cheers!!
  11. If you do book this close to the sailing date, you best be ready for limited dining options and picked over shorex. The shorex waitlist is well worth using though. Good luck and happy sailing!
  12. We cannot wait for our Vista cruise next year! I’m intrigued to learn more about the wine pairing lunches. Here’s a copy of the Odyssey menu from Riviera last year and a couple pictures of the dishes. It might not be exact but it will certainly give you a good idea of what to expect. We found both wine pairing dinners to be outstanding on riviera.
  13. Happy Anniversary and Bon Voyage!! Looking forward to enjoying your live from report. I didn’t realize you were in Port St. Lucie; we winter in fort pierce, just north of you. I think you’ll be ok in nyc tomorrow. My daughter in north jersey tells us that yesterday was their peak. Safe and happy travels to you!!
  14. Right. And is exactly why I added “lol!” after the comment.
  15. Omigosh, does anyone on this cruise line have a sense of humor?!?
  16. You raise a good point about my plans. I should have been at least a little vague about my upcoming SB cruise so that I don’t get bludgeoned in the bar or something lol! Our experiences with SB have been enormously expensive and not been good so yes, I’m just over this cruise line by now and I’m sure I sound it. We’ve never had a bad cruise before and have been on many different lines with Regent and Oceania our favorites. SB is just not for us.
  17. If you find the factual accounting of Seabourn’s policy to be “looking for trouble”, it’s the policy that is the problem. Or lack there of … Is seabourn also waiting to check that they have TK Grill locked in? One cruiser makes their shorex and TK reservations one and one half years ahead and another cruiser is unable to make either reservation nine months ahead? Full disclosure that you have a Regent booking? That made me laugh. You made it sound like you’ve committed a crime lol!! All of the dates you will need for booking your shorex and specialty dining (and anything else you may need) will be clear and easy to understand on your Regent account.
  18. Now I understand. There is no policy on Seabourn for when the shorex booking window opens or when the specialty dining booking window opens. It’s no wonder that my travel agent got nowhere fast! And the patterns show that there is no pattern so I’ll just keep spot checking till it’s handy for SB to get around to it.
  19. This is too confusing for me. I’m on back to backs in March ‘24 into April ‘24 and can’t book a darn thing. How does this work?!?!
  20. I didn’t explain well, I’m ready to book now and have been … the cruise is less than 10 months away and neither is available for booking. That’s why I had asked my travel agent to find out but she couldn’t get an answer from them.
  21. How far in advance of a cruise can TK and shorex be booked? My travel agent contacted seabourn and she tells me they said there’s no precise time. I’m thinking that can’t be right. Thanks in advance.
  22. Good point, pingpong. Years ago, I read that the percentage of us on Cruisecritic was surprisingly low. There is also personal tastes and impressions to consider. We were on a different luxury cruise line last year and we were quite disappointed in most aspects while their regulars thought they were just great.
  23. And if you look at November’25 as we Pcardad said, there are several unscheduled weeks.
  24. Happy to meet you and I am hopeful that we will be spending several amazing months together on our ‘26 WC. Good to get acquainted now! We have always had good experiences on Regent but have only been on the newer ships, Explorer and Splendor, with more booked on the Grandeur. We have also discussed a “test cruise” and have not ruled that idea out. Thank you for this helpful info and when I went back and looked at the schedules, there is indeed a large opening in November 2025.
  25. You’re not wrong there and we have loved all of our Regent cruises. We are so excited about the WC but admittedly, some of this concerns me.
