  1. We were notified by Oceania that our cruise itinerary for the titled cruise was modified. Of course, we understand and the lengthy notice is a plus but we just aren’t sure if the new itinerary is going to work for us. Three of the ports are called on twice, Kotor, Dubrovnik, and Valletta. The price seems high now that it is a Greek Isles and Med cruise instead of the Middle East. It’s always helpful to hear other’s thoughts and ideas so please chime in.
  2. Reservations for Solis remain unavailable. We were very disappointed in the food on Quest last year. We hope for improvement next year even though the menu writing is still ridiculous!
  3. @flossie009 thanks for taking us along with you and for the great pictures. We are going to Mykonos next year. Would you say it’s a good port to do your own thing without booking a shorex?
  4. Great! Judging from your name, we are likely to be on a snorkel excursion with you.
  5. January 26 and February 5 🍷🦞❤️
  6. I very much appreciate the humor here and we could all be open to the other guy’s interpretations of things … be it humor or elegance. There is no one and only way.
  7. Sounds like you guys are having a very good time! We will be on the Grandeur soon so it will be interesting to see how many of the splendor staff move in that direction. Is the war in Israel having any impact on your cruise?
  8. Happy to follow along with you, Lori! I couldn’t agree with you more about getting your own transfers. We only did Regent’s once and that was enough. One of the few things that they do not do well. Cheers 🍷
  9. I don’t think so. If I understand it correctly now, sushi is available as a snack in the club as opposed to being a dedicated restaurant on Quest. That doesn’t mean you couldn’t have multiple rolls and call it dinner, which I expect we will do a couple times.
  10. Our experience on SB was that Earth and Ocean was by far the very best dining on board. SB also has fewer choices than regent. We absolutely were that couple in hats and coats with blankets on our laps. And after many cruises with regent, we have never used the pool grill at dinner.
  11. Thank you for posting this. Might you have the sushi menu portion too?
  12. Thank you for this info! Wow, this is great news and for us, an additional dinner venue.
  13. I thought the sushi restaurants were only on the bigger ships. Are the smaller ships going to get sushi too?
  14. Your point is a good one. Do you think the insurance companies will make changes to the coverages that they’ve already sold? Most cruises are setup and sold years in advance.
  15. @DrKoob I’ve really enjoyed your pictures and reviews. Thank you for taking us along with you and spending so much time reporting. Your thoughts on Ember got my attention. I’ve seen other negative reviews and it’s a shame because it replaced Jacques, which was so darn good. My comparison of the two lines draws a different final conclusion than yours and that’s ok because preference is just that, preference! Best to you.
  16. True, a tomahawk is a ribeye and this thing is a porterhouse but the tie in of huge and huge is definitely there. Weve had the special Indian night in the Collonade and it was one of the best meals that we had on board. You’re probably right that a dedicated Indian specialty would be too much for many people. I’d suggest a more varied Asian theme but as well as though do Indian, their other Asian food is not.
  17. No one knows what is next but it seems like a discussion worth starting, both in general and also for those of us booked on Middle Eastern itineraries over the next year. Will the cruise lines amend next years itineraries soon or will they take a wait and see approach? Dare I suggest that the conversation is more helpful and more enjoyable if everyone is respectful.
  18. Yikes, didn’t realize the caviar was a TK thing too so there goes the tableside Caesar, probably/maybe fried chicken night, AND the caviar? The new menu is a mix to me with a couple of interesting dishes but as others have noted, the steak for two is not ideal and not one suitable sauce for that gigantic steak! Just my opinion of course, but it’s not focused and too all over the place making it more like a MDR. Would also have been very happy with a specialty with more of an Indian focus. Will look forward to the feedback from those that try it.
  19. @Queen of DaNile Thank you! I Hope the dish was as good as it looked.
  20. I hope so but I bet they would have a tough time legally.
  21. And when will they refurbish TKG into Solis? Not the best for those on that cruise!
  22. And an afterthought about The Collonade … the TK special nights are bound to go as well? The fried chicken night, etc? And will there be special nights featuring a Solis Mediterranean dish?
  23. I’ve figured that something was up for awhile now, being unable to make TKG reservations. We liked TKG and built our meal around their very good tableside Caesar, which we will miss. Earth and Ocean is our favorite dining venue and we are not fans of the main dining room or the Collonade. Hopefully Solis will be a good addition. The concept sounded loose in the press release and as others have said, a sample menu this close should be available and not just a couple of examples.
  24. Your pictures are fantastic and descriptions too. We are on Vista next year and am very excited to try out Aquamar Cafe. Any chance you have pictures of anything other than that gorgeous poke bowl which I will order on day one in your honor!?
