  1. My guess is that it varies somewhat, thus just check in on occasion. I do that anyway just to see if the excursions also have been loaded and made available for our sailing. We have never had a problem with reservations and when we have decided to go to a Speciality restaurant, have been flexible and with that flexibility gotten in even when making a reservation onboard. We have also changed reservations onboard and being flexible, able to make a change. With the above being say, you are doing the right thing by checking early to make sure you make any reservations you want as early as you can.
  2. I am with you on the Tommy Bahama camp shirt, both styles, but I wear Tommy Bahama Hawaiian style every night with chinos /stone colored. IT makes what to wear decisions easier.
  3. I also have not worn my tux in close to 10 years. It was a special time when most men were wearing tuxes or dark suits. Enjoyed wearing my tux with the ladies deck out too. I am keeping my tux, vests, and bow ties. I can still fit into them, so you never know.... Pre pandemic, I did start taking a sports jacket to wear, but now I do not even bring that. I wear camp shirts, chinos and if that is not good enough, I will just eat elsewhere. Have not been told they were a problem. I have my memories! 🙂
  4. I too hope HAL considers another Pinnacle Class ship and uses the Rotterdam as it base.
  5. We liked to sit in the Billboard Onboard side and listen to both pianos and the rock and roll group. Also enjoyed the blues group past the glass doors, but have to move to hear/see them.
  6. I think you are right. At least no PUP's not attached to a booking would be my guess in near term. . I also think that business is doing well enough that they do not feel the need to offer them right now. I would think they might want to do a few PUP offers over the balance of 2023 highlighting Ascent debut in one and going to Coco Cay now on some sailings in another PUP offering. Finally, I think that they might want to not put emphasis on the points as they may be making more changes to CC and not in the best way, thus not wanting to promote a negative. Just a feeling, with no facts to support the feeling.
  7. I look at your future cruise # days till and smile. We will be there in a year and 2 months. 🙂
  8. Pianos were very busy on our March sailing. All 3 areas where live music were busy and great every night! For sure hope HAL does not mess up an advantage they have with this arrangement.
  9. THAT is what REALLY matters to each of us! That they are talking to us, creating something special for us, not everyone else. That is why there are so many diverse opinions as to what should be included/extra. I, do not get on wi fi if I can avoid it. I get minutes via Captains Club, so when adding up value of perks in AI, wi fi is zero. I would like a couple of speciality dinners, paid up gratitudes, maybe an excursion or two. That is what I like.... 🙂 We are Elite Plus so you know what perks we have available to us. Even within the Elite Plus perks, we use very little. Laundry is one we use and also like the Captains Club drinks offered each day, plus the wi fi minutes if needed. Last 2 cruises did not use wi fi at all. Those are worth something to us.
  10. Never had a so so Dover Sole. All of mine have been on Celebrity till this past March on Rotterdam. It is interesting to watch them filet it to table side.
  11. It is interesting that we are even talking about this as I thought Celebrity was all about health of passegers, the environment, conservation. Does not even make sense to even go down this path.
  12. Which way is the wind blowing the smoke/vape today. I thought no smoking/vaiping inside was a good compromise and with it being allowed outside in designated area. I would not have a problem with smoking inside if it stayed with the person smoking.
  13. Yeah, that could be a problem. If vaping is a problem for DW or me, we will just pocket the Retreat savings. 😃 Seriously, I am still amazed any cruise line allows inside smoking or vaping. Smoking was allowed on our recent sailing of HAL's Rotterdam and they had a smoking area outside on Lido deck aft which was next to a bar and they allowed smoking in casino. Casino was never crowded and we spent just a short time in there over the 11 day cruise. Never felt it was busy. Was that due to smoke? It was for DW! Area outside was busy/crowded and a mix of smokers and those with them.
  14. For sure. I look at the Retreat pictures, then take the savings and donate in casino.
  15. Will have to pay attention to this on next cruise on Rotterdam. At Dutch Cafe early in morning before we stepped out to walk the ship, we would get a latte. Never just asked for a coffee. Wonder what they grind for lattes and other speciality coffees?
  16. Will have to check on the pressing service. Last cruise, I could have used some ironing out of wrinkles. Thought I had packed well.. We do use the plastic dry cleaning covers too.
  17. Well now I will have to go to Rudi's at least a couple of times! I love the Dover Sole and now will want to try the Wiener schnitzel and who know what else.😄
  18. I do like it that Celebrity allows 2 bottles of wine per cabin as I understand it. We like some wines that are in the range of $10 to $15 in retail stores onshore in US and those are our selections for the bottles/cabin. It is taste to us, not price. What I don't like about Celebrity's drink packages is it seems they cannot stock sufficient quantities of 'premium' package wines. We were drinking a Decoy Cab that was on premium package and by 3 day they were out. Somehow they found some/got some on 6th day as I recall. I am sure there were other selections that were out too. Have heard the same about liquors and beers. I am sure it is a challenge to have the broad spectrum of brands people want, but that is Celebrity's challenge based on the price they charge.
