  1. Yes. That is itinerary we shall see
  2. Some of the guys in tuxes look awful. Lol lipstick on a pig tuxes must be 40 years old
  3. Way better than the other stuff we are seeing. Slobs everywhere Certainly ok for the grill and la terraza
  4. We are. Lol tuxes are overkill on this cruise I love the guy in jacket with turtleneck he looked elegant
  5. In la terraza jeans and ski jackets with sneakers dirty jeans just awful imo i don’t get it
  6. Formal night again in dolce vita having pre dinner drink 2 tuxes jackets with turtlenecks jackets with open shirts a dark suit or two one red sequined gown one woman in slacks and casual shirt One silver glitter gown not sure what I will see in la terraza
  7. What annoys me (and I don’t care what anybody wears) is that it is easy for men to be compliant with the silversea dress code. All you need is a sport jacket and to plan where you will dine on formal nights. We’ve now done it 3 times with no problem.
  8. Agree. But when they board they learn that it’s a dress code. Therein lies the problem and the potential for conflict
  9. But in the daily program for tomorrow eg it says Dress Code: Formal not suggested
  10. Formal optional will appeal to those who want to dress up. Probably a good way to transition
  11. Don’t find that equivalent. You can give them reservation for another night I’m just reporting what I was told. Apparently very difficult to enforce dress code.
  12. “I paid $$ for this cruise and I’m going to eat where I want “ unfortunately not all guests respond with civility
  13. My husband owns full Wyatt Earp garb. I forbid him from bringing it
  14. Offending a paying guest is not part of the protocol. They can ask nicely or offer a jacket but they will never refuse entry
  15. Cunard has theme nights. All theme night are formal dress. For the masquerade ball you just need one of those Venetian type masks on a stick. Available on Amazon. It is not a costume party they also have a roaring twenties theme. Also formal. You’ve never seen so many sequined flapper dresses in one place in this century other 2 common themes are black and white and red and gold. Very easy. Also formal
  16. I just spent half hour with hotel manager he was terrific he is aware of dress code problem. Impossible to enforce. They try but if guest refuses they cannot offend guest or bar them from restaurant on this ship they don’t have enough jackets to give out. Lol he agrees that simple solution is formal optional so that those who want to dress up can. Others can dress casually. Men can wear jacket or not. It is simple and easy to enforce. If it were up to him he’d change it. Headquarters has to initiate the change I predict something will change
  17. I doubt it but there needs to be consistency and the current situation is a hot mess I think the folks most offended are the ones who really dress up i personally do not care what they do but I would prefer a dress code similar to regent. We can live with whatever is enforced
  18. Don’t know. Office door open but never there. I assume he is all over the ship. Good
  19. Those in very formal dress are almost invisible. Might reflect the itinerary.
  20. I just spent 45 minutes with the Guest Relations Manager to discuss some concerns I have. He is going to review with hotel manager today he said there were many comments about the utter lack of enforcement of the dress code on this cruise. He agreed that if you have a dress code enforce it or don’t have one at all will be interesting to see if anything changes
  21. There will be a place to leave it. Guest relations will know
  22. On ss now no dress code enforcement on this cruise. On previous 2 yes. crystal never enforced it either. I recall cut off jean shorts in waterside for dinner. Here with couple with 30 crystal cruises. They agree i wouldn’t worry
  23. The problem as I see it is that the cruising public does not know what to expect on ss— at least on this ship make a rule enforce it or don’t have rules at all that’s what competent leadership does
  24. I asked on board 2 months approximately
