  1. Just to clarify the NFL situation, all of the games are shown on the ships, either in the bars (District Brew House, The Local/O'sheehans, depending on ship), sometimes on the big screen at the pool and in your stateroom. Thursday Night, 3 games on Sunday and one on Monday, On my Prima T/A last October, the games were on around 2am as we crossed the Atlantic. The Sunday day games are the ones that the network consider their main game of the week, with their national broadcasters, So if you are looking for certain regional games, you probably won't get them, And as far as the carpet fish, they removed them from the Jewel on it's last drydock but I believe the other Jewel class ships still have them, and possibly the Breakaway and Getaway (haven't been on either of those for a few years). The Prima has the new 'arrows' pointing forward on their carpet.
  2. For our Viva cruise in December, they are offering tours after debarkation that take you to either FLL or MIA, whichever one you need.
  3. I travel often for business and just spent 2 weeks in 2 different very nice Hiltons. Upon check in to both, I was told there would be no housekeeping for the 5 days I was there. The bathroom was stocked with towels and I could text the front desk or stop by for more if needed. There were large trash bins near the vending machines where I could put my daily trash (and they were emptied often so no smell). This isn't the first time I have experienced this recently and for me, it's really no big deal. Once a day service will be great once I get on a ship!
  4. Just ask your room steward to fill your ice bucket. You can have all day, every day for free,
  5. Platinum also gets to use their Latitude coupons at any restaurant. This change was made not long after the restart...I have done 6 cruises since then and can't remember exactly when it happened but I am sure someone here knows. And yes, you can tell the hostess when you check into the restaurant how you plan to pay. Just make sure you have your Latitudes coupon with you if planning on using it. Enjoy your cruise(s)!
  6. What type of events are you looking to book once on board? I very rarely use my app to book anything once I am on the ship. If it is a dinner reservation, I go to the venue or use the kiosk. Same for entertainment. And things can be booked using the TV in your cabin. Sometimes if you don't clear your cache on your phone, certain apps can get 'stuck'. I usually reboot and sign in again and everything is fine.
  7. Glad you enjoyed your cruise on the Viva. By any chance do you have a list of officers on board? Thanks!
  8. Easiest way to make dining reservations is using the chat feature on the website if the app isn't letting you make them at 125 days out. There has been talk on this forum regarding the Cruise Next employess helping to make reservations but I personally have never used them while onboard. Much easier and quicker to just do it yourself by going to the appropriate venue once on board.
  9. Kiosks are near the elevators. Check the deck plan for the box office but typically they are located right outside the theatre. Enjoy your cruise!
  10. Did you check on the website? As long as it is showing there, I wouldn't worry too much about the app.
  11. The Prima and Viva Haven have their own private aft elevators (2) and don't use the service elevators. You will line up in the Haven and the conceirge will escort you down and walk you thru the ship to the gangway, where you will skip the line to disembark. To me it did not appear to be anywhere near as large as the service elevators and we sometimes had to wait for multiple elevators before we could get on. That being said, once the ship is cleared, you are the first ones lead off if you are ready to go. Sorry I don't know about the non-Haven suites.
  12. Wow...you really saw a lot in London today. Loved your whole review...very fair and balanced, I thought. And your pictures were fantastic. Even though I have so many other places on my list to go, you are making me want to do this cruise (and I have been to London and Iceland multiple times). Have a safe flight home.
  13. I don't remember where they were doing reservations on the Prima but I typically just use the Kiosk if I have a need or you can also stop by the Box Office.
  14. He's already off the ship. Hopefully we will get some other live reviews coming soon.
  15. Reservations are available 21 days before embarkation, not disembarkation. It's possible that what you are trying to reserve is sold out. Check when you get on board or you can always go to the standby line.
  16. Thanks for your review. Glad you had a good time and are ready to cruise again...it is addicting!
  17. I always lock my bags when I put them out in the hallway. The room steward has had access to all my stuff for a week so I don't really worry about them but if some random passenger wants to steal, it's easier and quicker to get into an unlocked bag than mess with a locked bag.
  18. NOLA is way worse than San Pedro, both with embarkation and disembarkation. Though I love the city, I would have a hard time booking another cruise from there.
  19. I have disembarked multiple times in San Pedro, both self assist for a shorter cruise and without my luggage at the end of a 15 day cruise. Last time was in the rain, completely full ship, from the Joy. Even though we had priority disembarkation, there was no line to get off so we just went with the general population. Walked off, walked thru the terminal and right onto the airport bus. As with most travel, a lot is going to depend on the number of people getting off, the time they decide to leave, the number of staff working at the port to handle luggage, crowd control, etc. Every situation in every port will be different, just like every flight in every airport is different. I just try to go with the flow, have plenty of time to get to my next destination (whether it be the airport, an Uber, my car) and not let the stress of the real world get to me after a great vacation experience. One last thing...if you think NCL is bad, Royal is even worse. I had friends picking me up and they thought I would never get out of that building (and I only had one small carry on bag).
  20. I put my large suitcase outside the door before midnight the night before. If in Europe (or a longer cruise), I typically also have a small roller bag and tote bag/backpack. I keep those with me for my last night, early morning necessities. I can usually handle those myself down the stairs if the elevator is full and tuck them in a corner of the dining room while I have breakfast.
  21. Everyone is usually off the ship by 9 to 9:30 so around that time should work well.
  22. I have walked off my own luggage several times and walked directly to the NCL transfer bus to the airport. Doing it this way allowed us to be one of the first ones on the first bus to the airport.
  23. That is a good question as the studio design changed with the Prima and it has a full bathroom now vs. a separate shower and WC. Prior to that, they were all the same. As far as size, I would look for a video from La Lido Loca. Tony is a big guy (almost 400 lbs, I think) and he stayed in a studio. The shower should be fine but the WC is small...I leave the door open when in there...I am nowhere near petite but not in the plus size range either.
  24. I have done this before but once on board, I go to the reservation desk and change it to 2. Its not big deal and gives them the opportunity to book a 4 top. People cancel or fail to show up for reservations all the time which is why the specialty dining options can be so fluid.
  25. They never did Supermarket Sweep on the Prima, only The Price is Right. I believe they have planned to have each of the games shows on the various Leonardo class ships but not all of them on one ship. Viva will be having Press Your Luck so at some point Supermarket Sweep may show up on a 3rd or 4th ship.
