  1. Thanks very much for that.😎 Ah, the app.......I have gotten to <almost> hate the trend to move everything onto phone apps! I know I am an be old foggy, but I just don't like the change. I have no trouble with similar "apps" on a PC, but trying to do many things on the "smart phones" is much more difficult to see and to type. I watch in awe as those younger folk type 1,345 words a minute with their thumbs! <g> I did buy an 8 inch tablet to use as necessary on cruise ships, but I likely will also bring a laptop for everything else such as emails, checking weather, info on ports, airline and hotel reservations, etc. Good to know about the MDR meals to cabin service; thanks again. As to waits for the phone to be answered, understandable the wait could be long. Especially with folks likely in quarantine!😲 Doug
  2. We'll be in a C3 cabin on the Summit. Do I understand that cabin meal service results in no charge? I understand we have an "enhanced" breakfast menu, but my question is directed more toward the dinner meal. We'd likely order a dinner, hopefully off the MDR menu, between around 530-7PM. BTW, how do you order from the MDR from your cabin? Where do you see what items are available? Doug "The room service menu is very limited as is the breakfast but at least it's free. A lot of people forget that you can call room service and order dinner off of the MDR menu during MDR dinner hours."
  3. If that's your photo, no, you are NOT old enough! 😎
  4. Thanks very much. Makes sense those questions are asked just before sailing. Are you old enough to remember the way "it used to be done"? We used to have to fill out a paper questionnaire as we checked in at the pier. That was so useful......yeah, like people would say they were too ill to board the ship! What goes around comes around; now here we are doing the same thing again.....but this time on our phones instead of on paper.😎 Doug
  5. How far in advance do we need to do that questionnaire? Is it only on the Celebrity app? Can we do the questionnaire with a PC instead at Celebrity.com? I rarely even look at airline/hotel/cruise line apps unless those data are not available on the PC. Princess is guilty of that!🤔 Thanks. Doug
  6. Impossible for our changes so far, as they equipment often is what changes. So even if we had the same seat numbers, they could be nowhere close to where they were on the original aircraft! It's sort of like flying on Southwest; who knows where you will sit, you just have to hope you'll be next to your spouse! Doug
  7. As others have said, you ought to log onto the airline's web page and make your own seat assignments. You will need the airline's confirmation number. Here's the link I just used for United: https://www.united.com/en/us/manageres/mytrips Here's the one for American: https://www.aa.com/reservation/view/find-your-trip It's easy to do once you get to the page showing your flights. PS - Expect your flight<s> to be changed, rescheduled, aircraft type changed, seat assignments dropped and other exciting events. Some events are very insignificant, others are VERY significant. You SHOULD be notified by Celebrity when those happen; but I check the airline link (like above) every week or so, more often as the cruise is closer. Doug
  8. I have no idea is the flight is "ticketed". I can see it at the airline's web page with the confirmation number I have, but that's not the same thing, is it? Since it is a Celebrity Flight flight, I cannot change anything directly with the airline. Believe me, I tried! I got a message saying so when I tried about 2 weeks ago. Good idea though.... Doug
  9. I've threatened to cancel, but yeah, we gotta be careful with threats! 😉 Doug
  10. Background (aka ***** mode<g>) When I booked my upcoming July 2022 cruise to Bermuda back in August 2021, I also called the Celebrity's air program for our MEM-EWR and EWR-MEM flights. I have been locked out of my Celebrity.com account so cannot do much of anything myself; long story, not applicable to the current issue. About a 6 weeks ago the airline changed our departure time from EWR at the cruise's termination from 1400 (2pm) to 1126; I received a notification from Celebrity via email that they would work to find a later flight. Apparently Celebrity only "uses" flights from EWR after 1330 (130pm). On 5/15 I decided to call Celebrity and find out what was happening. The agent found a later flight (after I found it for him logged onto the airline web site). The agent said he'd "submit the request to change the flight". I asked why this could not be done now? He said "that's the way they do it. If I booked the different flight with the airline myself it would increase the cost $1000 for us". He said I would hear back in 7 days. After 7 days I called again, and this time was told to call back in another 3 days. There is only one flight that will get us home before my personal cut off time. I am afraid those seats will be gone before Celebrity/the airline do anything. My question finally So I am reluctantly thinking about canceling our cruise. It is my understanding from Celebrity's web site (Cruise with Confidence HERE) that my cruise is covered and I may cancel at my discretion and I will have a future cruise credit for 1 year from our sailing date in July. But I am not an attorney, and cannot understand Celebrity's policy. I figure if anyone had to do what I am considering their experience is better than hiring an attorney.....😉 So, anyone have to take advance of the Cruise with Confidence program? Doug
  11. Thanks for that update. My wife is going nuts trying to remember where she had those great scones in the 1970s.............sounds like Somer's Market is worth a try!
