  1. Did you check for a Roll Call for that sailing? I'd think there is one for that cruise. Good luck!
  2. So she has not been revolutionized yet, correct? Doug
  3. I concur with my Air Force friend above. We sailed on Infinity the end of October this year and were very pleased with everything. We had some initial difficulties with our air conditioning, but a call down to the purser's office resulting in maintenance being done within an hour. Great ship. We sailed on the "revolutionized" (I think) Summit in July, and my wife actually enjoyed the Infinity more. I just booked the Reflection for later this year and I wonder if anyone knows if she has revolutionized? Gotta do some research on her today when I can get a roundtoit. Doug
  4. No wonder my head is swimming! I've working on hotels and airlines for two cruise right now also! I could use some of that Beverage Package now!😉 Doug
  5. Thanks much. I thought it was this way, but read somewhere on the internet that it was only free if one had the Premium Beverage package, which we do not. It always pays to verify anything we find on the internet doesn't it, since a lot of it is old info! Doug
  6. I'm confused. We will have the Classic Beverage package. In the morning I like to walk to Cafe al Bacio and get a couple of non-alcoholic Lattes to take back to our cabin. Are those covered with the Classic Beverage package? They were the last two times we sailed on Celebrity - July and October 2022. Our next Celebrity cruise isn't until December 2023...... Also, what about <generic> bottled water and sodas? We got both those bars without any trouble with our Classic Beverage package. Doug
  7. Ah, thank you for that information. Helps with my decision. Doug
  8. "...My advice to all is to take screenshots of your reservations each month leading up to your cruise,..." Heh heh great minds think alike, eh? I do that all the time. I trust the info on apps, my phone, my tablet, etc about as far as I can toss a cruise ship. I always report to the cruise check and airline counter with a printed, paper copy of ANYTHING that is important. I guess I am old fashioned, but I've always had a backup plan....only had to use it once or twice. So it's worth the extra 15 of so getting ready for my trips. Doug
  9. I am thinking of canceling our Mar 2023 Princess cruise, probably using the PVP FCAR clause, but maybe not; depend on what returns more money. My question is about your experience canceling and re-booking. Both Princess cruises, right? I assume you have not made final payment on either cruise, but you likely had a deposit for the June cruise. Did you cancel and re-book, or simply "slide" your vacation to another date so any deposits you made were just applied to the new cruise? Seems like that would be less trouble than going through the cancellation process to recoup that deposit. Doug
  10. Already selected the Medallions we wanted about a month ago. Also booked out MDR table and Crown Grill. We opted for the basic Medallion; no lanyards, bracelets, etc. So unless I hear differently from Princess, I will be anticipating seeing them in the mail. Unlike a lot of folks here, I've had "luck" with the app for booking our MDR meals and specialty dining. Only issue I had was upon checking those reservations about a week later, they were changed from a private to a shared table. Might have been my mistake when booking, but I don't think so, as we always want a "private" table for two. (I know, I know; ship definition of a table for two is not the same as my definition of table for two, but that's a tale for another place). The Princess app is somewhat cumbersome IMO, but then so is Princess.com. Actually, any cruise line's site is cumbersome! <g> I was in IT for many years, and while my code was not always perfect, it beat the pants off most cruise line web sites IMO!😉 Doug
  11. That has been out experience also. And it takes an insurance attorney to wade through the legalize about "pre-conditions", so all of us over a certain age need to read them carefully. Doug
  12. We booked around 1 November 2022 for our 19 March 2023 cruise. Final payment was around 20 December 2022. So i d think the medallions will be mailed to us. If not, no biggie. Doug
  13. When does your cruise sail? We sail on 19 March 2023 and I am expecting our medallions to be mailed to us. Isn't the change to Princess' policy for cruises booked after a certain date (Decemeber 2022?)? Doug
  14. Please don't quote me, but I believe one can purchase Princess' insurance up to the final payment date (generally 90 days prior to sailing) and be covered. Please check that out if anyone is considering getting Princess' Vacation insurance. For other insurance companies, in my experience at least, yes, insurance must be covered "soon" after booking the trip. Doug
  15. Re: your update. Was that Princess Vacation Protection CFAR or another insurance carrier?
  16. Did you by any chance have Princess' EZ-Air or whatever they call it? Where you book flights right at Princess.com? I have used Princess' CFAR PVP before also, and the process is easy, but I can't remember is their insurance also covers the air part. I seem to recall reading somewhere air is NOT covered under CFAR. I am considering canceling a March 2023 cruise, and this is the first time I've considered cancellation when I've booked air through them. Doug
  17. As stated above: look for "LIVE: Ruby Princess Dec 18-29 Western Caribbean". That thread is an excellent, day by day description of just about anything anyone could ever want to hear. 😎 Doug
  18. We often buy the cruise line insurance, mainly for something like CFAR, like Princess has. However, as you pointed out, most medical, evacuation, trip delay, etc coverage with PVP is very poor. For that reason we always purchase insurance coverage from another company more appropriate to our needs (retired, 70+ couple). Good point above about Medicare. If you are a USA citizen and you have TriCare or TriCare for life it's a bit different, compared to Medicare. Insurance is very complicated for us mortals. 😉 Doug
  19. Well dang and Happy New Year, you saved me some money! I will check into that with my TA or Princess! Doug
  20. We're doing the same, but at a different near IAH hotel (Marriott Courtyard). How have you arranged a place to meet the Princess shuttle? This would be a very good solution to my problem!!😎 Doug
  21. Yes, we're booked at a hotel near IAH that has a free airport shuttle. The cost for a Princess shuttle is way less than any other shuttle service from IAH to the ship. We land at IAH late the night before. We are staying that night at a hotel about 8 miles from IAH that has an airport shuttle. I'm wondering if it's possible to get a Princess IAH to ship shuttle when we're NOT coming in on a flight that morning, nor could we even get back inside the arrivals section of the airport that next morning. I don't think we could anyway? On the return, we'll just use that Princess Houston tour I suppose and get to the airport around 2 PM. That will give us around 6 hours to kill.....but better than 8! We don't really want to spend another night on our trip that last night. Surely we are not the first to wonder about this.........😎 Doug
  22. Thanks very much to all of you who replied and set me straight.😎 Yeah, we're in that different-OBC-for-different people described above. I've got military and stock ownership, my wife has less, but enough to cover her portion of the Houston Tour/Shuttle I want to book for us. So I messed up booking that specialty dining since it went onto my credit card. The other option was to wait until onboard and use OBC. But, I wanted the date and time I chose, so it's okay. Doug
