  1. Imagine how expensive they would be if they were giant, instead.
  2. 1). The DSC (Daily Service Charge...$20 per person, per day for most cabins) is added to your onboard account...or you can choose to pre-pay before the cruise. 2). I'm happy to see you didn't list the Dawn. All of the others are fine.
  3. Everyone is missing the real culprit here...as you know, the price of hash browns has skyrocketed and NCL has stopped serving them. I'M NEVER CRUISING WITH NCL AGAIN!! No, seriously. Never. Ever. (Until next month).
  4. The strange thing about our CruiseFirst is that when I go into my account on my laptop, it shows no expiration date. But when I go in via the NCL app, it shows an expiration date of 12/29/2026. Both of these things cannot be true.
  5. I have heard consistently negative things about the Star. It seems to be the poor stepchild of the NCL fleet. As a result, I would never want my first experience/exposure to NCL to be on that ship. Nor would I ever consider cruising on her, regardless of itinerary. On the other side of the coin, we have had great experiences on the Bliss, Escape and Encore. Would sail on any of them in a heartbeat...and will do so again in September. The middle of the pack (for us, at least, was Prima). There was both good and bad about that cruise...more than any other we have been on. What I am trying to say in a very long-winded post is that as time goes on, things tend to even out. As always...YMMV. And how much YM will V is very much dependent on the ship.
  6. The thought of an aft balcony is intriguing. However, keeping the principle of a fulcrum in mind, there is more up and down motion in the back of the ship than mid-ship, where we usually park ourselves. Not sure we'd find that enjoyable. (And yes, I've heard that there is more motion at the front of the ship, than in back, but I somehow don't buy it.)
  7. Correct, the alternative Irish Cream is just about as good...although I don't see it listed in the menus @BirdTravelsposted. Hope they still have it somewhere on the ship. As stated elsewhere, the beer choices are pretty pathetic, unless you're on a ship with a District Brewhouse.
  8. The standard FAS package is anything up to $15.00. Anything above that, you pay the difference, plus gratuity on the difference. Personally, we've never had a problem quenching our thirst under the basic package. YMMV...
  9. Hey, I'm grumpy and old and a geezer. Too late to turn back now...
  10. Nope...there's very little I don't complain about. Just part of my charm. And if it tasted good, I wouldn't complain about it. How's that for an answer? But I guess I'm not entitled to an opinion.
  11. If it's the same conglomeration of ingredients posted above, there is no CREAM in the ice "cream". False advertising at its finest...or worst.
  12. Or more like a bandit ship, with everyone running around in masks.
  13. We are being offered the option to buy two additional Specialty meals for our upcoming cruise for $82 per person. Naturally, we'd have to pay this before boarding. How does this compare to the price if purchased onboard? Or is it even possible to purchase additional meals onboard? We have $100 of Shareholder OBC to blow (I mean spend), but by definition, OBC must be used onboard. It seems like additional Specialty meals would be a good option.
  14. Shouldn't they have the famous Monte Cristo that everyone raves about? Never had it...heard it's hard to find. Wish they'd add it to this menu.
  15. Hands down, my favorite NCL dish. It's so good we asked for the recipe the last time we had it. The next day, the recipe appeared in our cabin. If only I knew what Mrs. Schmoopie did with it.
  16. Your secret is safe with us (unless your bride is also on CC,)
  17. After reading that list of ingredients...YIKES!! (And I don't often use exclamation marks). Looks like it's not ice cream OR ice milk. Don't know what you'd call it. YIKES AGAIN!! I just knew it tasted bad and the ingredients confirm it.
  18. Call it what you like...a rose by any other name. In any case, I find it tasteless and bland. YMMV. Although I do end up trying it on every cruise, hoping for improvement. So far, it hasn't happened.
  19. In reading the title of this thread, I was expecting some "R" rated answers. Maybe I'm the only one with my mind in the gutter. Wouldn't be the first time...
  20. As has been pointed out in previous threads, NCL does not have soft serve ice cream. They do, however, have tasteless and bland soft serve ice MILK. Huge difference...
  21. Is there sufficient seating in the terminal at check-in? Mrs. Schmoopie fractured her leg pretty badly a few months ago and is using a cane and has a hard time standing for too long. (This may be an "interesting" cruise with her limited mobility.) Just wondering when we should try to check in when we're on the Jade next month to avoid too much standing around.
  22. The stock went down because there were people complaining at the Guest Services desk? If that were the case, the stock would be at zero. People line up at Guest Services to complain on every cruise (yes, including me). I bought the stock a few weeks ago at $12.90. In the next two weeks it shot up to over $21.00. Yes, it had a bad week but it currently sits at $17.80. Not too bad...
  23. And in my house. Buying green bananas on Monday ends up with over-ripe and spotted bananas on Friday. It's enough to drive me bananas.
  24. I'll gladly use History as a base, rather than Algebra or Calculus. I suck at complicated math. Don't get me started on Trigonometry. But I can tell you when the War of 1812 was fought. History's easy.
  25. As I said two days ago, the CruiseFirst in my account showed an expiration date of 12/29/26. Today it shows no expiration date. Maybe it already expired...😁
