We intend to have the vaccine when it is available to us. Hubby is 78, so is fairly high up the list, whereas I'm nearer the bottom at 63. My four of my children are more likely to get it before me.

Just heard some devastating news about a 33 year old local lad, (Michelle's hairdressers brother) who was fit and healthy and was Europe's 5th strongest man in 2018, who became ill with Covid 11 days ago and has now died...
He seemingly followed all the guidelines like the rest of us.
For all the doubters... I hope you never have to deal with what his family and 12 year old son are going through now...
Andy
Very sad and devestating for his family. It shows that it can affect anyone and I wish people would take it more seriously.

On the topic of Royal Mail, I've just had a heck of a shock this morning. I've opened a letter addressed to my mum from an insurance company with her annual statement for 2019. Mum died in 1993!!!
Avril
How about this?
Back in April I received a letter from the hospital telling me my last MRI result was satisfactory - for a scan I hadn't yet had!
Rang the hospital and told them I hadn't had my annual scan, I was still waiting for it.

Wow that is a tough birthday. I always feel sorry for people with Christmas birthdays. As I said November had no sign of Christmas when I was younger. Last year I got a gift card for a friend with a November birthday and all the pictures on them were Christmassy!! I said to her ‘some of us have birthdays too you know!’My eldest daughter is 23rd December. Our family has five birthdays in December, so have got into the habit of getting cards, etc early.

What’s this with chicken soup? Lucozade was the magic cure for every illness. Big bottle covered in orange plastic film with gold foil covering the cap.
We didn't get either. To start with I don't like chicken soup. We used get weak orange squash made with boiled water and glucose when sick.

Good morning Graham😊 It's good to know you had a good night's sleep and you're feeling a touch better this morning. It sounds like you're on the road to recovery at last. There's no way you're going to get get Pauline to ease up until you're well again Graham, it comforts us to us know we're helping during your recovery, so enjoy it while it lasts. That's love.

Graham, Good to hear you're feeling a bit better. Just take it slow and take as long as it takes - don't rush it!

Avril
Good news about your daughter's result, Avril.

Welcome to the forum. I am sure you will enjoy your cruise. I am sure you will find you are addicted.
I haven't travelled on my own but I have sailed on Britannia several times, and others have said the balconies are a bit small, but provide you with a place of your own for a bit of peace and quiet if you want it.

My niece has just called me her husband came home from work on Tuesday feeling ill, he had a covid test on Wednesday and had the result this morning telling him he is positive. They now all have to isolate and she has got to speak to her consultant about what to do about her next chemo session which is 2 weeks today. Just when you think things can't get worse they do ☹️☹️
Sorry to hear this news. Hope he gets well soon and that it doesn't affect your niece's treatment.

Got result around 7 am this morning.

Sorry to hear the result is positive. Hope you don't suffer too much and that Pauline doesn't, if she catches it, either.
Get well soon.

This is one of the cruises that I have been looking at. We have family living near Palermo and the Greek ports are one's we haven't been to before.

My daughter's first cruise was for her 30th birthday. She enjoyed and booked another for her and her partner the following year. They were also supposed to be cruising about now.

Sorry to hear you had "visitors" at you beach hut, but luckily nothing was taken.
As they left items there it makes me wonder if they were planning to come back. I hope not.
