  1. It was prettier before they reshaped it a bit towards the end to add 300+ verandas, some suites, etc. Not quite as pretty after those modifications, at least not from the exterior, but still a great look inside. Still afloat as the Marella Explorer 2 from what I've read.
  2. Refurbishment spiffs things up. 'Revolution' ala X is far more than that, and to some minds, not a step forward. Repurposing of space, and replacement of comfort with appearance in some cases. https://www.celebritycruises.com/blog/celebrity-millennium-revolution
  3. It's an online limitation, seemingly related to a maximum 3 day pre-stay package, even if you're not buying that package. You will want to deal directly with Celebrity or your TA if you really want to go in 4+ days early. If you are doing a package using Celebrity's hotel, you'll need to book the extra nights (ahead of the standard 3) yourself with the hotel, and advise them that you're staying the 3 Celebrity nights as well. That way, they can set it up so that you don't have to move. I've since changed the itinerary to different flights, but same days. Flying out 1 Nov, cruise starts 7 Nov. No brain damage at Celebrity, but not bookable online.
  4. I must have opted out some very long time ago. I never get them.
  5. The one I asked for was actually $37 pp higher at United, but FBC didn't ask for any additional cash. I had rather expected that they would.
  6. On my most recent Celebrity booking, FBC had me routed from DEN > EWK, then EWK > BCN, the latter on a 747. Granted, I'm about a month from final payment (where there is a deviation fee), but I asked them to change the routing to DEN > FRA on a 787, then FRA > BCN. I wanted a longer leg in Polaris class. No problem. No extra charges. I've made similar requests for routing changes without issue for the 3 years prior as well, though one was through Silversea.
  7. One way of looking at it ... Any good loyalty program will inevitably fall victim to its own success.
  8. Have had zero issues logging in under two different accounts in the last 72 hours or so.
  9. We are fairly low maintenance, and our butler in 2021 (Anu) was so incredibly intuitive that we asked for nearly nothing. In fact, the treats we kept finding on the dining table when we'd return to the cabin began to be a bit much, and we had to ask to back off on that just a little bit! I wouldn't ask a butler for things just for the sake of doing so ('max' the experience?). While I'm not sure that it impacts upper suites on M class, rumor has it that the average butler has more cabins to service than was once the case. If you actually find you need or want something, be it a reservation, or an item for your suite, ask, and it will be managed for you. If you happen by the Retreat lounge (Michael's, still, on Constellation), the concierge there can also arrange reservations and help to resolve any account issues, etc. If you're traveling with friends or family, and with a day or two of notice, your butler will help to arrange a get-together in your suite for other guests. It's a great meeting place given the size.
  10. Since we'll be back in 6140 in a few months, can you update on general condition? Everything was pristine last time we were there, but that was 2-1/2 years ago. Was the Lavazza machine back on the counter by the door to the veranda? Were you offered monogrammed PJs this time around? We weren't, but really didn't need any, either. @Les43 One thing you may notice is booming WiFi reception. I noticed a WiFi access point high up in the storage closet that sits between the 'bench' seating at the dining table and the 'living room'. Not sure if that applies to all RS, but was definitely a plus in ours.
  11. We were in a RS on Connie right after the restart in late 2021, and you do want info specific to Connie since two of the other M class ships were 'revolutionized' and would skew the information. If you have any specific questions, please ask. At that time, all interior furnishings and soft goods had been refreshed in these cabins using some of the materiel that they had already warehoused for the revolution that didn't happen. Sat our keisters on a brand new couch and brand new loungers on the veranda.
  12. Agreed. Last year's WB TransAtlantic from Lisbon netted me the appropriate # of miles with United. Have always had miles when booking through Celebrity on those occasions when I do it - which is really when they have had a better 1 way fare to or from Europe for a TA.
  13. Which I believe is now the platform where RCI is managing their flights for RCCL and X these days. Really.
  14. No, no towel deliver by software just yet, but they have just instituted a means for contacting your butler digitally. When this starts delivering the towels, I'm done!
  15. This ^ And even if you weren't able to get a real name, RCI should have a record of where your call was finally routed from the ACD queue when you made the call. They'll just need the your number and the date/time you called to pin it down.
  16. How much have things changed over recent years? I *think* our butler would typically service 10 suites on M class (all suites from the PH forward on one side or the other of 6), for example. The suites are a bit chopped up on S class, so I was never sure where our butler was on those cruises.
  17. Our TA says she's had this happen to her customers too many times, and that it's often a hassle getting these settled while still aboard. Now she always gives me the option of having a check sent to me at the end of the cruise. It's usually here within a week of our return.
  18. Unlikely you reached a 'call center'. You'll find that these folks are all around the world, many working from home. There's an ACD (automatic call distribution) system in between you, and they're all routed via the internet. When you hear the roosters in the background, that's your clue ...
  19. Cooking classes with individual hands-on cooking stations were great fun aboard Silver Dawn. No charge. Amazing what you can do on a ship 2/3 the size of an M class, but with 1/4 the number of passengers. I remember finally learning how to properly filet flounder aboard a Connie TA years ago. Gratis.
  20. These events are free to attend on Silversea, not $72. Would love to know what they're calling "fine" wines. Had better be something on the 'Elevated' list or preferably better.
  21. Got it. Like the old business class seats behind Polaris on a 787. Think that's what they call those vs. the regular Economy Plus. Nice seats if that's what you have.
  22. For which we are eternally grateful. Comfortable seating is still available on Constellation!
  23. Sorry. You lost me with "PE". It's possible that FBC booked a ticket in a fare class that wasn't upgradeable, though for enough miles/money, I've always found it possible in the past. Have you gone to the United site to see if your flight appears (it should). You would normally be able to make seat assignments, and request the upgrade online. Two westbound TAs ago, once I had booked the cruise and FBC flights with my agent, I was able to go online at United and upgrade all four of us to Polaris for miles and a few bucks.
  24. Not to book, but in the past, I've upgraded FBC tickets with miles on United.
  25. That's not what was meant, I don't think. You couldn't break them up this way, creating a third and sorta separate leg on the outbound part of the trip. The assumption here is that it's three tickets instead of two for some reason. Ralengh-JFK-SFO SFO-Tokyo Tokyo-SFO-JFK-Raleigh
